Ekiti State Governor,Dr Kayode Fayemi, has signed into law the bill for the establishment of Ekiti State Security Network Agency, and Amotekun Corps, with a warning to criminally minded persons to stay away from the State and the entire Southwest zone.

Dr Fayemi while assenting to the bill at a brief ceremony at the Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado- Ekiti, reiterated his earlier assertion that the Amotekun outfit was not a substitute for existing security agencies but a complementary agency that would enhance and sustain the existing security architecture in the Southwest region of the Country.

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwolu has met with President, Muhammadu Buhari over the Abule Ado explosion in Lagos.

The Governor, who said he was in the State House to update President Muhammadu Buhari on developments arising from the explosion at Abule Ado area of Lagos State, announced that a N2 billion Emergency Relief Fund has been established in the wake of the unfortunate incident.

The bodies of 20 people have been recovered while over 100 houses have been destroyed.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and the federal government will again meet today, to resolve the ongoing warning strike by the lecturers.

The meeting was confirmed by senior officials of the union Monday night.

The meeting will be the second since the union started its warning strike last week Monday.

The National Working Committee, NWC of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has scheduled a meeting for today, Tuesday, to be presided by its embattled national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.

According to a statement, the meeting will hold at the party’s national secretariat at noon.

The announcement came just hours after the party shelved its planned National Executive Committee after the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari.
