6 Habits To Help You Stay Calm When You Are Stressed

THIS Is a new week and the idea behind this article is to help reach out to those who have not been able to control stress. Here are a few steps that can help you conquer stress and put you at the top of your game

1. BREATHE.

As cliché as it sounds, every time you face a breakdown, pause for a minute and breathe. Close your eyes and take give deep breaths so loudly that you can hear the air passing through you! Trust me, sometimes all we need to do is be aware of our existence.

2. CLOSE YOUR EYES AND SING.

Now, this may sound funny, but developing this habit is hands down the best thing that I did for myself. Every time you feel that piercing rush of hormones, just sit down quietly, shut your eyes and sing your favorite song aloud or hum the song, Absorb the tune. Let it flow through you.

3. LOCK AWAY YOUR DEVICES.

Social media can be a bad, bad thing sometimes. It is normal to feel low when you see people being productive while you are still trying. Live through one tech-free hour every day. Start with one hour first and increase the time as you go.

4. TALK MORE.

Interact with people around you — family, friends and even strangers. I used to ignore conversations and grow impatient when people tried to talk to me. Make small talk, smile at strangers, and support their thoughts, and before you know it, you will get better.

5. READ. WRITE. PRAY. TAKE UP A HOBBY.

Invest energy in whatever you think works for you. Put your faith in something — anything you believe in. Blogging worked for me.

6. TAKE A WALK.

As funny as it seems, when you leave your seat to take a walk, you will forget about what's stressing you. In fact the possibility of getting a new perspective to whatever is stressing you is likely to occur. You can find your own niche.

BBNaija: Lucy And Kaisha Allegedly Assaulted By Policemen

Former Big Brother Naija housemates Lucy and Kaisha have recounted how they were allegedly assaulted by men of the Nigeria Police Force.

The reality TV stars went on Instagram Live as they recorded their predicament with the overzealous police officers.

According to Kaisha, one of the police officers asked to search her handbag, which she vehemently refused.

This did not go down well as one of the officers prevented the ladies from entering their car.

According to him, they had the effrontery to record them during their interrogation.

It is not clear how it ended as the live session was cut midway.

This is not the first time a celebrity will be facing the wrath of the Nigeria Police Force.

For years, it has become a recurrent situation where celebrities and ordinary citizens of the country are harassed and assaulted by police officers.

Medical Experts Warns That Nigeria May Lose 100,000 Doses Of Covid-19 Vaccine Due To Lack Of Storage Facilities

Virologists and other medical experts have warned that 100,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine the country is expecting may become useless, if proper arrangements are not made for their transportation and storage

The experts, including the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria, Dr. PATRICK DAKUM; a medical virologist, Dr.  OLADIPO KOLAWOLE,  and a professor of Virology at the University of Ibadan, DAVID OLALEYE,   in separate interviews advised government to ensure proper storage and transportation of the vaccine to achieve its desired result.

The Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Prof BABATUNDE SALAKO, had earlier said there was no enough space to store the vaccine at the moment.

He also said another major challenge would be how to transport the vaccine at the temperature of -70 degree centigrade to rural areas.

According to him, in future Nigeria may need to buy other types of vaccines that do not require low temperature as Pfizer.
