Alex Iwobi is closing in on a return to first-team duty for Everton after taking part in training on Thursday ahead of their clash against Watford on Saturday.

The Nigeria international has been on the sidelines since December due to a hamstring injury he copped in Everton’s goalless draw at home to Arsenal.

The injury has seen him miss the last seven games for the Toffees, but he had made 20 appearances for the Blues before the set-back.

“The Nigerian, alongside Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson are back from injury and will be available for Saturday’s home tie,” Everton wrote via Twitter.

The Super Eagles forward will be hoping to get his first competitive game under the new manager, Carlo Ancelotti.

The Toffees also will be aiming to return to winning ways after failing to record a win in their last two league games.
