Nigeria records 381 new cases of COVID-19, number of infections now 3,526

Nigeria has recorded 381 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 3,526.

This is the highest number of cases recorded in a single day in the country.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, confirmed this in a tweet on Thursday night.

According to the NCDC, 183 are in Lagos, 55 in Kano and 44 in Jigawa state.

Other states with new figures include; Zamfara and Bauchi 19 cases each, Katsina 11, Borno 9, Kwara 8 and Kaduna state 7.

601 patients have been discharged while the number of deaths stands at 107.

Lagos, Kano and the FCT are topping the list of worst hit areas with 1,491, 482, and 316 cases respectively.

A total of 256 Nigerians residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who expressed their desire to return home due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have arrived in the country.

On arrival, the returnees were met by officials of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Lagos State government and security officials.

After the immigration processes were completed, the returnees were taken to an undisclosed location in Lagos State where they would undergo compulsory quarantine for 14 days.

According to Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), ABIKE DABIRI-EREWA, all returnees tested negative for COVID-19 before they departed Dubai.

5 More Patient Dies of Covid-19 in Kano State

The Kano State Ministry of Health has announced that five more patients died from coronavirus complications in the state.

The Ministry on its Twitter handle also said three more patients recovered from the disease and they were discharged from the isolation facility.

The five deaths announced by the Kano government today appeared to be the same five deaths announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night.

NCDC Records 195 News Cases of Covid-19, Rises 3,145

 A total of 195 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Nigeria, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed late Wednesday.

In a post on its Twitter handle, the centre said 82 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, 30 in Kano State, 19 in Zamfara State, 18 in Sokoto State, 10 in Borno State, nine in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and eight in Oyo State.

Five cases each were reported in Kebbi and Gombe states, four in Ogun State, three in Katsina State and one in Kaduna and Adamawa states respectively.

Five new deaths were also reported.
