Dr Dre Released From Hospital After Brain Aneurysm

American rapper Dr Dre has been released from hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm earlier this month.

According to TMZ, the music mogul was discharged on Friday and will be monitored 24 hours a day by medical professionals, at his home.

This is coming weeks after he was hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm.

According to PageSix, the music mogul was hospitalized on Monday, January 4.

In the early hours of Wednesday, January 6, the rapper took to his Instagram page where he revealed that he was doing fine.

"Thanks to my family, friends, and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!" he wrote.

Despite the good news about his release from the hospital, his divorce battle with estranged wife, Nicole Young, has continued to make the headlines.

Nicole filed for divorce from the millionaire rapper back in 2020.

She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her split from the hip-hop mogul.

January 16, 2021 EFCC Not Recruiting

EFCC Not Recruiting

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has warned Nigerians to be wary of people sharing fake EFCC Recruitment Form on various social media platforms.

Head, Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement on Saturday, said the commission hasn’t commenced recruitment exercise for the year 2021.

“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, wishes to alert the public about fake EFCC Recruitment Form 2021 circulating in the social media and to warn that the Commission is currently not recruiting.

“Scammers bent on defrauding hapless job seekers, have been active in the social media, providing a link for unsuspecting members of the public seeking employment into the EFCC, to obtain, “EFCC Recruitment Form 2021/2022 and Guidelines Form and apply for the ongoing EFCC recruitment 2021”.

“Fraudsters are also circulating forged Offer of Employment Letters, purporting same to be from the EFCC, and extorting members of the public.

“The public should note that there is no ongoing recruitment in the EFCC. The purported ‘EFCC Recruitment Form 2021’, as well as the ‘official recruitment portal’ and ‘Offer of Employment Letters’, are non -existent.

“For the avoidance of doubt, recruitment into the EFCC is a structured, transparent, and merit-driven process which is always heavily advertised through the mass media and the Commission’s social media platforms. It is highly automated, with no place for the so-called Employment Form.

“The EFCC is on the trail of the scammers behind this devious scheme as no efforts will be spared to bring them to justice.

“The Commission urges the public to cross-check any doubtful information with the agency through; info@efccnigeria.org.”

Uganda Elections 2021: Museveni Takes Early Lead

Uganda’s long-time President Yoweri Museveni has a clear lead in the presidential race following Thursday’s vote, preliminary results show.

The country’s electoral commission has dismissed allegations of vote rigging, made by opposition candidate Bobi Wine, a former pop star.

But election monitors say confidence in the count has been damaged by a three-day internet outage.

Final results are expected to be confirmed on Saturday.

Dozens of people were killed during violence in the run-up to the election. Opposition politicians have also accused the government of harassment.

President Museveni, who has been in power for 35 years, is hoping for a sixth term.

The 76-year-old says he is standing for stability. Meanwhile Bobi Wine – the stage name for 38-year-old Robert Kyagulanyi – says he represents the younger generation in one of the world’s youngest countries, where the median age is 16.

On Friday, as the results came in, Bobi Wine said that Ugandan soldiers had surrounded and breached his home.

“None of these military intruders is talking to us,” he said on Twitter. “We are in serious trouble.”

But a government spokesman accused him of “dramatising” the incident “to seek sympathy”.

“Bobi Wine at this moment is a very important person. It is the duty of the state of Uganda to ensure he is secure,” Don Wanyama said.

Fashola “Third Mainland Bridge Will Be Reopened On February 15”

The Third Mainland Bridge is the longest of the three bridges connecting Lagos Island to the Mainland.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, says the Third Mainland Bridge will be reopened on Monday, February 15, 2021.

Fashola said this on Thursday, January 14, 2021, during the inspection of construction work on major roads and bridges in Lagos State.

The minister also said that work would begin on the Falomo Bridge after the opening of the Third Mainland Bridge.

Recall that the 11.8 km bridge connecting Lagos Mainland to the Island was shut on July 24, 2020, for another round of rehabilitation works that would last for six months.

Fashola maintained that the #EndSARS protests caused the extension of the completion date.

He said, “On the Third Mainland Bridge most of our work is almost done, we lost two weeks during the civil protest and our completion date earlier was towards the end of January, which has slipped.

“We are hoping that by 15th of February we should be done and the bridge should be opened to the public.

“That is one of the reasons why I also came to see how far and when this bridge will be opened to the public because this is delaying our work on Falomo Bridge.

“We have done some work on Falomo Bridge, we are going to have to close Falomo Bridge as soon as this is done so that we can also replace the expansion joints there.

“All the other preliminary work has been done there, but we left it in order to reduce the inconvenience to commuters in and around Lagos.

“So, the Eko Bridge that was closed is opened now, this one (Third Mainland Bridge) is going to be opened by February 15.”

The Third Mainland Bridge was constructed in 1990. It is the longest of the three bridges connecting Lagos Island to the Mainland.
