Bella Shmurda gets emotional and gushes about Zlatan, Olamide and Poco Lee: ‘I was going astray, but you supported me with everything in 2020,’

In 2020, Shmurda became one of Nigeria's hottest artists.

In the early hours of December 3, 2020, Nigerian star on the rise, Bella Shmurda hopped on an Instagram Live session to have a conversation with Nigerian star rapper, Zlatan and Small Doctor.

During the chat with Zlatan, Shmurda got emotional and said, "I love you. I was going astray, but you supported me with everything in 2020. You [Zlatan], Olamide, Poco Lee and Papisnoop. I was going astray when you found me and helped me. I was smoking and drinking nonsense, but you helped me."

In Yoruba he then said, "Papisnoop always kept me on my toes. He's like a Big Brother who never have me a chance to go astray. I started 2020 on a wild note, but I ended it with 'Cash App' while cashing out. I can't believe it but I'm grateful."

In 2020, Shmurda became one of Nigeria's hottest artists. He released his EP, High Tensionreleased the aforementioned anthem, 'Cash App,' appeared on songs with Davido and OlamideHe also got a Headies nod for Next Rated artist.

The reality TV star promises to to stand by the youths and everything that would contribute to their development.

The winner of the 2020 Big Brother Naija Lockdown house, Agbelesebioba Olamikekan, also known as Laycon has been installed as the Akeweje of Ipokia kingdom, in Ogun State.

He received the traditional title on Sunday from the Onipokia of IpokiaOba Yisa Adesola Olaniyan, at the 2021 Opo Day celebration held at the District High School, Ipokia.

The Onipokia during the title installation said laycon as an indigene of Ipokia truly deserved the title of Akeweje.

Oba Olaniyan described the singer as a good ambassador to Ipokia and a positive inspiration to all Nigerian youths.

Laycon, the BBNaija winner appreciated the monarch, Ipokia indigenes, and the youths for standing by him throughout his stay at the BBNaija house.

He promised to stand by the youths and everything that would contribute to their development.

Ogun State Government Has Suspended The Commissioner For Environment For Attempted Rape Of A 16-Year-Old

The Ogun State government has suspended the Commissioner for Environment, ABIODUN ABUDU-BALOGUN, for allegedly attempting to rape a 16-year-old secondary school student of the state.

He was suspended from office over an allegation of sexual harassment of a 16-year-old girl identified as BARAKAT MAYOWA MELOJUEKUN.

The police on January 1 invited the commissioner for interrogation and have continued to investigate the matter.

In its statement, the state government assured the public that it will do everything to ensure that justice is served in the matter.

“Whilst taking cognizance of the principle of a suspect being presumed innocent until proven guilty and the public statement issued by Hon. Abudu-Balogun denying the allegation, as a government with zero tolerance for gender-based violence and indeed any criminality, the suspension is a further demonstration of the commitment of Prince Dapo Abiodun Administration to fairness, equity, justice and the rule of law, no matter who is involved.

“In the meantime, the suspended Commissioner has been directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment,” the statement read.

Former Vice-Chancellor Of UNILAG Dies At The Age Of 71

Prof. OYEWUSI IBIDAPO-OBE, has died at the age of 71.

There are reports that he died of COVID-19 yesterday in Lagos.

The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, UNILAG branch, Dr DELE ASHIRU, who confirmed his death, said that he will greatly be missed in the education sector.

Yes, he is dead. We got the sad news this evening. He is a distinguished scholar, a seasoned university administrator whose death remains a very big loss to the Nigerian university system and indeed the Nigerian society,” he added.

ABOUT Prof. OYEWUSI IBIDAPO-OBE

He was a distinguished Professor of Systems Engineering and a former Vice-Chancellor (2000 – 2007) of the University of Lagos.

Prof. OYEWUSI was the Pro-Chancellor of the Technical University, Ibadan.

He happened to be the President of the Nigerian Academy of Science from 2009 to 2013.

Ibidapo-Obe attended the University of Lagos from 1968 – 1971 and was awarded a Bachelor of Science [B. Sc (Hons)] degree in Mathematics 1st Class Honours Division.

He was married to Olusola (with children and grandchildren) and held the prestigious traditional title of the Apeluwa of Ile-Ife. He was conferred with the national honour of the Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) by the Nigerian Government in 2004.

He had several consulting services on Science, Technology including Human Resource Development to the United Nations and several of its agencies (UNDP, UNESCO, ILO et al) as well as the World Bank.

Ibidapo-Obe was invested in 2004 with the prestigious Fellowship of the Academy of Science and Academy of Engineering, Nigerian Computer Society and Mathematical Association of Nigeria. He was elected Fellow of the African Academy of Science as well as The World Academy of Science in 2010 and was the Vice President of NASAC (Network of African Science Academies) (2011 – 2013).
