Iyabo Ojo Expresses Regret Over Advocating for Mohbad’s Exhumation

Popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has expressed regret over her earlier push for the exhumation of the late singer Mohbad.

In an emotional interview on the 'Talk to B' podcast with Biola Bayo, Iyabo admitted that she didn't foresee the complications that followed the request. She shared her sorrow over the delays in Mohbad's burial and the ongoing disputes within his family.

“I wouldn’t have asked for Mohbad to be exhumed if I had known things would turn out like this," she said. "He hasn’t even been buried yet. His father wants a DNA test, and I hear the court has granted it, though there are new conditions.”

She continued, “I only wanted the exhumation so they could perform an autopsy to determine the cause of his death. I did my best to ensure a thorough investigation, but when new theories came up, DNA became their priority.”

Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, under mysterious circumstances and was buried the following day. However, the Lagos State Police exhumed his body on September 21 for an autopsy.

In October 2023, Mohbad's father, Joseph Aloba, made it clear that the singer would not be reburied until a DNA test was conducted on his son Liam.

Cubana Chief Priest Vows to Secure Speed Darlington’s Release: ‘We’re Coming for You’

Social media influencer Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has pledged to secure the release of musician Speed Darlington from police custody, taking another jab at Afrofusion star Burna Boy in the process.

Speed Darlington has reportedly been detained for nearly two months after being arrested by the Imo State Police Command shortly upon his return from the United States in November. His arrest stems from allegedly jumping bail in a case involving Burna Boy.

The musician is accused of defamation and cyberstalking Burna Boy, following a social media post where he claimed that Burna Boy’s relationship with renowned music producer Diddy played a role in his 2021 Grammy Award win.

Taking to Instagram, Cubana Chief Priest vowed to take action to free Speed Darlington.

“Tomorrow, we come for Akpi Nwamama…Monday is now here. Make we now show power,” he posted, signaling his intention to intervene in the matter.

Liverpool Confirm Marcelo Pitaluga’s Return to Fluminense

Liverpool have announced that goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga has completed a permanent transfer back to his former club, Fluminense.

The Reds shared the news via a statement on their official website, bidding farewell to the Brazilian shotstopper, who was behind Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher in manager Arne Slot’s pecking order.

Pitaluga joined Liverpool over four years ago and was named in the senior matchday squad on seven occasions. During his time at Anfield, he also gained valuable experience through loan spells at Macclesfield FC, St. Patrick’s Athletic, and Livingston.

"Everyone at LFC wishes Marcelo the best of luck for the future," read part of the club’s statement.

The announcement follows Liverpool’s dramatic 2-2 Premier League draw with Manchester United on Sunday evening, which kept them at the top of the league table. Slot’s side currently leads the standings with 46 points from 19 matches, ahead of Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

As the January transfer window remains open, it will be intriguing to see whether Liverpool’s management opts to strengthen the squad further in their quest for silverware.
