“You Kept Your Marriage Private but Still Got Divorced” – Yul Edochie Criticizes Brother Linc

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has responded to his older brother, Linc Edochie, after Linc suggested he should take his marital affairs off social media. Yul, who faced public scrutiny after marrying his second wife, actress Judy Austin, while his first wife May subsequently filed for divorce, addressed his brother's comments on Instagram.

In a recent appearance on the K.O.K. Live podcast with Kanayo O. Kanayo, Linc shared that he had advised Yul to avoid displaying his marriage with Judy Austin on social media. Yul, however, fired back at Linc in a candid Instagram post, questioning why he should hide his marriage. He pointed out that even though Linc kept his own marriage private, he still went through a divorce.

Yul wrote, “Ndi ‘keep your marriage off social media’ kwenu! You hid your marriage at home, yet you still divorced? Your wife still left you? Everyone on social media thinks they’re an adviser. Your life is falling apart, yet you can't fix it, but you’re quick to give advice to others. If I post my wife a million times, how does it concern you? Did you buy me data, or was it your wife I posted?”

Yul’s response has stirred further conversation on social media, with fans reacting to the ongoing family drama.

Governor Makinde Approves ₦80,000 Minimum Wage for Oyo State Workers

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved a new minimum wage of ₦80,000 for state employees, announced on Wednesday. According to a statement from the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, the decision follows recommendations from a Technical Committee established by the state government, which obtained Makinde’s approval for the wage increase.

Oyelade noted, “The new salary scale will take effect after the committee, consisting of government and Labour officials, completes the necessary consequential adjustments.” He highlighted that Oyo State recently received recognition from the National Bureau of Statistics as the most worker-friendly state in Southern Nigeria, with a significant reduction in unemployment due to expanded hiring across sectors.

Since taking office in 2019, Makinde has ensured timely salary payments on the 25th of every month and implemented the previous ₦30,000 minimum wage at the start of his administration. Additionally, he has consistently paid pensions, gratuities, and a 13th-month bonus to workers and pensioners.

In response to the federal government’s fuel subsidy removal, Makinde has provided a welfare wage award of ₦25,000 for workers and ₦15,000 for pensioners since November 2023. The administration has also cleared pension backlogs dating from 2008 to 2015, increased gratuity payments, reinstated pensioners previously removed from payroll, and introduced an annual Christmas/New Year chicken bonus for all pensioners.

Al-Hilal Considering Early Termination of Neymar’s Contract Due to Injury Setbacks

Al-Hilal are reportedly considering ending Neymar’s contract early due to his ongoing injury struggles, as per Saudi outlet Action Ma3 Waleed. Since joining the club in the summer of 2023 for a hefty €90 million fee, the Brazilian star has faced a string of injuries that have kept him sidelined for much of his time in Saudi Arabia.

Neymar recently made his long-awaited return from an ACL injury, taking the field against UAE’s Al-Ain on October 21. Unfortunately, his comeback was short-lived; just days later, he suffered another injury after only 30 minutes on the pitch during an AFC Champions League victory over Esteghlal.

This latest setback has led Al-Hilal to consider terminating Neymar’s two-year contract in January, cutting short his time with the club. Speculation has already started about Neymar’s next move, with rumors linking him to a possible reunion with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami in the MLS.
