Jimi Agbaje Joins 2019 Lagos Governorship Race

Mr. JIMI AGBAJE has officially declared his intention to contest in the 2019 Lagos State gubernatorial election on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.

JIMI AGBAJE put an end to speculations about his candidacy in a telephone message sent to Inspiration FM on Wednesday.

He expressed confidence that he would win a free and fair primary election to clinch the PDP ticket and then win the governorship race in 2019.

You will recall that JIMI AGBAJE lost to the incumbent Governor AKINWUNMI AMBODE by over 150,000 votes in the 2015 contest.

Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO has assured that the federal government will do everything possible to reduce the sufferings of Nigerians displaced by flood due to days of massive rainfalls.

OSINBAJO made this comments yesterday when he visited Zungeru, Niger state to commiserate with victims of the flood that recently ravaged the state.

He later inspected areas affected by flooding in the state.

The Director General of NEMA, MUSTAPHA MAIHAJIA was summoned to brief the Federal Executive Council on the issue of flooding ravaging some states of the federation

Niger state was one of the four states in the country where NEMA has declared a national disaster as heavy seasonal rains have caused the Niger and Benue rivers to burst their banks.

I Am Not Under Any Pressure To Resign – Obono-Obla

The Chairman, Special Presidential Investigation Panel on the Recovery of Public Property, OKOI OBONO-OBLA has denied reports that he was under pressure to resign, saying the “purported report is false, baseless and wicked”.

OBONO-OBLA who came out with this in Lagos said that the matter in question that necessitated the report was in court.

OBONO-OBLA, a senior special assistant to President BUHARI, is alleged to be in possession of an “invalid” Ordinary Level result, according to findings by the House of Representatives ad hoc Panel.

The panel had said in the course of its primary assignment, it discovered the presidential aide might have forged his way into the University of Jos where he studied and subsequently, the Nigerian Law School.

OBONO-OBLA said that some people were after him for daring to investigate and expose assets hidden abroad by some powerful people in the National Assembly.

Buhari receives new DSS DG

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has met for the first time, with the newly appointed Director-General of the Department of State Services, YUSUF MAGAJI BICHI, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

When BICHI was ushered into the president’s office by protocol officials, he was asked by the president if they had met before.

The new DG, however, `confessed’ that he was seeing President BUHARI face-to-face for the first time in his life.

The meeting of the president and the DSS boss later went into a closed door session.

President BUHARI on September 13 appointed BICHI, as new Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS).

BICHI, replaced LAWAL DAURA, who was sacked following the invasion of the National Assembly by his men on August 7.
