Atiku says tribunal did not reject PDP’s request for access to INEC’s server

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has said the presidential election tribunal did not reject his request to inspect the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

He spoke in reaction to a statement from the presidency describing the judgement of the tribunal as victory against propaganda.

According to the former vice-president, the tribunal only ruled that the request being sought is not relevant at its current stage of hearing.

A statement by Atiku’s spokesman, Paul Ibe said the last has not been heard of the matter as they eagerly anticipate the actual ruling of the tribunal when the case begins properly.

Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has boasted that he would secure the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial election in the state in November.

Speaking with journalists after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday, Governor Bello noted that “no tenant can send the landlord out of his house”.

The governor expressed confidence that not only would he win the APC ticket, but would be returned elected to Government House on November 16.

Update: Police denies invasion of Edwin Clark’s residence

The Nigeria Police have distanced itself from claim in some quarters that it carried out the raid on the Abuja residence of Chief EDWIN CLARK.

Force spokesman, MOSHOOD JIMOH in a statement said the Inspector General of Police is not aware and did not order the raid of the residence of the Elder Statesman, Chief EDWIN CLARK.

He said the Inspector General of Police has therefore directed the detention and investigation of the Four Police personnel and the informant involved in the exercise.

MOSHOOD JIMOH assured that the Force under the IG will not condone misconduct by any of its personnel that can run contrary to the rule of law.

Information filtered in that the policemen who stormed the home of Chief CLARK were in search of arms and ammunition.
