The state chapter of the All Progressives Congress has suspended the Deputy Governor of Kogi state, SIMON ACHUBA for alleged anti-party activities before, during and after the 2019 general elections.

The party based the suspension on some actions the embattled deputy governor took that constitute an embarrassment to APC family in Kogi state.

State APC chairman, ABDULLAHI BELLO, told reporters in Lokoja the party received several petitions from stakeholders in Iyano ward, Ibaji Local Government Area, where the Deputy Governor hails from.

He added that the decision of the state working committee will be communicated to the APC National Working Committee in due course.

Just in the week, the state House of Assembly also commenced impeachment proceedings against the Deputy Governor for gross misconduct.

Abuja Federal High Court has ordered both the Senate and the House of Representatives to halt their plan to take over the legislative duties of the Edo State House of Assembly.

Justice TAIWO TAIWO made the order at the resumed hearing in the case instituted by the Edo State Government to challenge the directive by the chambers of the National Assembly to Governor GODWIN OBASEKI, to issue a fresh proclamation of the state’s House of Assembly.

The National Assembly threatened to take over the legislative duties and powers of the Edo State House of Assembly should the governor fail to make the fresh proclamation with three weeks.

Kogi state House of Assembly has commenced impeachment process against the state Deputy Governor, SIMON ACHUBA.

The impeachment process followed recent utterances by ACHUBA against Governor, YAHAYA BELLO.

The embattled Deputy Governor had last week raised an alarm of an alleged threat to his life and claimed that some gunmen after him were linked to his principal, Governor YAHAYA BELLO.
