Police Arrest Sixteen Suspects Including A Pastor For Alleged Attack On Officers

At least sixteen suspects including a pastor have been arrested for allegedly involved in series of violent and unprovoked attacks on security operatives and facilities in some states, particularly in the south-eastern part of the country.

Force public relations officer, Mr. FRANK MBA in a statement explained that the arrest was made in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force following sustained and intelligence-driven sting operations.

According to him, sophisticated firearms, live ammunition, improvised explosive devices, camouflage bulletproof vests, walkie-talkies, and other incriminating items were recovered.

The Inspector-General of Police, MOHAMMED ADAMU who condemned the murder of security operatives and attacks on facilities in some states of the federation vowed that no murder will go unpunished.

ATIKU's statement was in reaction to a recent report that tagged Nigeria as the nation with the highest unemployment rate in the world.

In a series of tweets on his official handle, ATIKU said the nation is at a precipice and the truth is that all stakeholders and elder statesmen have to speak up on time, while there is still a Nigeria to save.

The Presidency has challenged anyone with clips on alleged comment that the current administration promised to make one naira become equivalent to one dollar to make them available.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, FEMI ADESINA, said the claims suggesting that President BUHARI made such a promise, are false.

While appearing on a monitored programme, ADESINA said those spreading such information were doing so to portray the President in bad light.

ADESINA said the minister of information, Alhaji LAI MOHAMMED has debunked the claim severally and challenged anyone with clips and publications to make them available.

Bola Tinubu Says Lagos And Kano States Have Roles To Play In Championing Peace In The Country

The National leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress, BOLA TINUBU, has said that Lagos and Kano states have critical roles to play in championing peace and unity of the country due to the cosmopolitan nature of both states.

TINUBU, who spoke at the Kano Emirate Council when he paid a visit to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji AMINU BAYERO, said Nigeria needed unity and peace as the basic tonic to overcome ongoing challenges.

He said, Nigeria is at a critical stage of its life noting peace and development will continue to be a mirage if the nation continues the way it is going.

In his remarks, Emir AMINU ADO-BAYERO, commended TINUBU for choosing Kano to celebrate his 69th birthday, saying such was a testimony to unity and love he had for Nigeria.

He said traditional leaders were ready to give all the necessary support Nigeria required for unity and understanding among tribes and religions.
