Bello Matawalle: Nigerians Will Be Shocked About Those Behind The Kidnap At Jangebe School

Zamfara State Governor BELLO MATAWALLE has said Nigerians would be shocked to know those behind the abduction of the Government Girls’ Secondary School, Jangebe.

You will recall that gunmen on Friday attacked the school and abducted over 300 girls, while seven of the girls escaped when they were being taken into the bush.

 The governor, who stated this when 17 Emirs in the state paid him a sympathy visit over the abduction of the schoolgirls, said he had many revelations to make about the kidnap.

Also during the visit, the Emir of Anka and Chairman of Zamfara state Council of Chiefs, Alhaji ATTAHIRU ANKA, berated the President over the upsurge in killings and kidnappings by bandits in the country.

The attack occurred almost two weeks after bandits abducted 27 students and 15 workers of Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State.

Federal Government Says Top Officials And Frontline Workers Will Be Accorded Priority as Nigeria Awaits Delivery Of First Shipment Of Covid-19 Vaccine.

As Nigeria awaits delivery of the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccine from COVAX this week, the Minister of State for Health, Dr. OLORUNNIBE MAMORA has said frontline workers and the elderly will be accorded priority.

Speaking on a monitored programme, MAMORA also said the president and governors will receive the vaccine jab openly to display strategic leadership by showing citizens that it is safe.

He however said after receiving the vaccine, Nigerians must still adhere to the COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced that Nigeria recorded 240 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths.

This brings the total number of infections in the country so far to 155,657.

Abducted Kagara School Boys Released

Armed bandits have released the twenty-seven schoolboys and fourteen others that were abducted from Government Science Secondary School Kagara, in Nigeria’s north-central Niger State.

A government official who confirmed the development to ARISE News said they are on their way to Minna, the Niger state capital.

It is expected that the children will be received by Governor Abubakar Bello at the state Government House in Minna.

The source said the children were released from a location close to where the fifty-three travelers that were abducted were released a week ago.

Tonto Dikeh Reacts As NCPC Denies Appointing Her As Peace Ambassador

Tonto Dikeh says she won't be challenging the commission's sudden change of stance on her appointment.

Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh has reacted to the statement released by the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission denying the report that she was made an ambassador.

The actress claimed she was appointed an ambassador by the commission.

In a post shared via her Instagram page on Saturday, February 27, 2021, the movie star said she did not lie about the appointment.

"My name is King Tonto Dikeh. Best believe I will never lie on any human being talk more of a commission of the federation. I can only simply say this is life and we all know what can go wrong in 1 sec," she wrote.

"Coming from a place of leadership and peace, I won't fight this. But I will walk away with my head held high and grow above it, thanks."

The movie star's response came after the commission came out to deny appointing her as an ambassador.

"The Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission NCPC wishes to state in categorical terms that King Tonto Dikeh paid an official courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Rev Yakubu Pam on 25th February 2021 at the corporate headquarters of the Commission in Abuja," part of the statement read.

"As the founder of Tonto Dikeh Foundation, she expressed her willingness and interest in partnering with the Commission in the area of peacebuilding. She equally cashed in on the visit to commend the NCPC boss for his positive and relentless peace initiatives across the country.
