Gunmen Kidnap Students At Bethel Baptist School In Kaduna State

Bandits have attacked Bethel Baptist School, a private college located at Maraban Rido area in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting an unspecified number of students.

The kidnappers were said to have invaded the school, located along Kaduna – Kachia road in the early hours of today, and started shooting sporadically into the air before kidnapping the students.

Four of the students escaped while the rest were taken away by the bandits to an unknown destination.

Bandits Abduct Babies And Nurses From Residential Quarters Of The National Tuberculosis And Leprosy Centre In Zaria

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted babies from the residential quarters of the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Reports say five staff of the hospital, including female nurses, were also abducted.

The bandits, who were said to have stormed the place in large numbers, engaged officers from a nearby police station in a gun battle.

Also, confirming the incident, Public Relations Officer of the Medical
and Health Union of the Center, MARYAM ABDULRAZAQ, said she compiled six names of those abducted.

Kaduna State Police Command Public Relation Officer, MOHAMMED JALIGE said efforts are on to rescue the victims.

Residents Flee As Nigerian Army Invade Two Communities In Enugu State

Men of the Nigerian Army have reportedly invaded two communities in the Nkanu East and Nkanu West local government areas of Enugu state.

 The affected communities are Ekpoffo and Akpugo.

Although the reason for the invasion could not be immediately ascertained, villagers who spoke from their hidings said it might not be unconnected with the recent sacking of herdsmen who were terrorising the area.

Some also believed that the invasion could be the directive of the Presidency to security agencies to hunt down Biafran agitators in the South-East region.

Community sources told our correspondent that the soldiers invaded Ekpoffo on Wednesday and whisked away some youths to unknown destinations

FG Assures That Nnamdi Kanu, Will Enjoy A Fair Trial

The Federal Government has assured that the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, NNAMDI KANU, will not be denied a fair trial.

This is according to the Minister of Information and Culture, LAI MOHAMMED, who spoke at a press conference in Abuja on his re-arrest.

The Minister stated that KANU was re-arrested through efforts of Nigerian security and intelligence agencies that collaborated with some countries he failed to mention.

He said while the investigation continues, none of the collaborators, irrespective of their standing in the society, will be spared.

According to him, they will all face the full wrath of the law for their activities that challenge our nation's sovereignty and threaten its unity.

 The Minister said NNAMDI KANU, lived a five-star life across several countries, travelling on chartered private jets, living in luxury apartments and turning out in designer clothes and shoes.
