FG Commences The Bidding Process For The Sale Of Recovered And Forfeited Assets From EFCC

The Federal Government has commenced the bidding process for the sale of recovered and forfeited assets from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice and the Inter-ministerial Committee set up by the government to handle sales of the assets under the Ministry of Justice opened the bid for the sales of the assets in Abuja yesterday.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the National Association of Auctioneers.

The National President of the association, ALIYU KILIYA, expressed his satisfaction with the manner in which the opening of the bid was conducted.

He also urged the committee to uphold uprightness in the process of selling the assets.

He said, "All the procedures for Bureau for Public Prosecution and the Stores Regulation should be followed to the latter. The committee should do a diligent job not to allow any space for litigation in future as the items involved are very sensitive.

Aminu Masari Wants Governors In The North-East To Join Hands In Fighting Lingering Security Issues

Katsina State Governor, AMINU MASARI has said that the lingering security challenges facing the northwestern and northeastern states can be addressed if the governors of those regions join hands together to fight it.

 The governor stated this at the Zamfara State House of Assembly during the two years anniversary of BELLO MATAWALLE's Administration.

Governor AMINU MASARI said no state can fight insecurity alone but with the strong collaboration of Kaduna, Katsina, Niger, Zamfara, and other affected states they can stem the culprits that are destroying the people, lands, and their culture.

He lamented that banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, killing, and maiming are not the identities of the citizens of the Northern region.

MASARI wants the citizens to see the fight against insecurity as everyone's responsibility.

Former President, Obasanjo, Sultan, Ooni, Other Leaders Meet In Abuja Over Security Issues In The Country

The issue of security challenges affecting the country is also of great concern to two former Head of States, OLUSEGUN OBASANJO and ABDULSALAM ABUBAKAR.

 They both joined some traditional and religious leaders in Abuja for an exploratory meeting on pressing issues on national unity, security, peace, integration, and Economic revitalization.

The meeting held behind closed doors and lasted for hours also had in attendance the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji SAAD ABUBAKAR the third, the Ooni of Ife, Oba ADEYEYE OGUNWUSI and Cardinal JOHN ONAIYEKAN among other eminent personalities.

Before the meeting, former President, OBASANJO in a statement said the attendees will discuss national development, women and youth welfare as well as the general progress of the country.

At the end of the meeting, former president, OBASANJO was not available for comment on the outcome of the meeting but journalists were able to get a feeler from Cardinal ONAIYEKAN and former Minister of Agriculture, Chief AUDU OGBEH.

They are expected to meet with the President to present the outcome of the meeting.
