Governor Masari Bans Commercial Phone Charging Points In Katsina

Katsina State governor  Aminu Bello Masari has banned all commercial phone charging points in the 19 local government areas of the state.

Speaking while inaugurating security enforcement and monitoring committee on the state executive orders issued to check banditry and other related crimes and criminality, Masari stated government would deal decisively with the hoodlums terrorising the state henceforth.

He said his government has resolved to take measure on banning commercial charging points, noticing that criminal elements were using them to acquire information, especially from the informants who were the enemies in the fight against the bandits.

The affected local governments are Jibia, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Sabuwa, Faskari, Dandume, Musawa, Mutazu, Dutsima, Kurfi, Danja, Kafur, Maiadu’a, Kaita, Bakori, Mallumfashi and Funtua.

Breaking: Bandits Kidnap Ex-NBC Director Bakori, Daughter

Gunmen have abducted a former director of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Ahmed Abdulkadir Bakori and his daughter, Laila Ahmad, in Katsina.

A former colleague of the ace broadcaster,  said  the assailants, riding on motorbikes invaded his house in Bakori.

His son, Nasif Ahmed confirmed the abduction of his father in a short statement.

“Innalillahi wa’inna ilaihi raji’un. My father and my step sister Laila Ahmad, 15 years have just been kidnapped by bandits in his house in Bakori. Hasbunallahu wani’imal wakil, lahaula wala kuwwata illa billa”, he said.

Ahmed Bakori worked with the state owned Katsina State Television Authority before joining the National Broadcasting Commission where he served as Head of Public Affairs and Zonal Director in both Maiduguri and Sokoto zones.

Bakori, four kilometers away from Funtua, has witnessed series of attacks recently.

Just last Saturday, bandits abducted the wife and two children of a member representing the area at the House of Assembly, Dr. Aminu Kurami.

Buhari Meets Security Chiefs, Others

President Muhammadu Buhari has been receiving briefings from the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, the Inspector General of Police, and other heads of security agencies at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Also attending the meeting are the Ministers of Defence, Bashir Magashi; Justice, Abubakar Malami; Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi; Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; and Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.

Inspiration FM learnt that attendees at the meeting are expected to brief the President on the current security situation across the country as well as proffer solutions.

“President Buhari receives Security Briefing in State House on 7th Sep 2021,” Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina, posted on Facebook.

This is as banditry, kidnapping, and killings have escalated in the country.

State of insecurity in the nation deteriorated with the emergence of criminal gangs, often with hundreds of members, raiding communities, stealing cattle and kidnapping residents for ransom after looting and burning homes.

Makinde Goes Spiritual, Awaits God’s Decision On His Re-Election

Gov Seyi Makinde, on Sunday, says he is praying to God and awaiting His direction on his 2023 re-election bid.

Makinde, who disclosed this during the 2021 Hijrah luncheon held at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, declared that 2023 belonged to God and that His will prevail in his political adventure.

The governor stated that he had observed that some of his supporters had started campaigning for his re-election “with the insignia of 4 + 4.

“Please let us go back to God. I did not tell the people in 2019 that I must be governor at all cost.

“The prayer I prayed to God was to allow His will prevail. So, I am saying it again,” he said.

He urged people to always factor-in God into whatever they do, irrespective of the religious inclination.

Makinde promised to ensure that his administration would continue to balance political appointments between Christians and Muslims in the state.

“I have re-appointed seven commissioners and for the remaining 10, it will be a balanced appointment.

“On LAUTECH, we have done our best, I, a Christian from PDP and Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, a Muslim from another party. We were able to work together and resolve the issue within a year or so,” Makinde stated.

The governor reiterated his administration’s determination to re-double its efforts to ensure the state’s progress and development.

In his sermon at the event, Prof. Daud Noibi said that the 2021 Hijrah celebration was the first of its kind, saying it was a day of joy for all Muslims in the state.

Noibi expression appreciation to the governor for making the luncheon possible and assured him that the Muslim community in the state would continue to support his administration.

The President of the League of Imams in the Southwest, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Daud Akinola, said the luncheon was a unique one for the Muslim community in Oyo.

Akinola, who was represented by Sheik Najimudeen Alkubroh, said that the governor had won the hearts of all Muslim faithful in the state because of the tremendous developmental projects being executed by his administration.
