Atiku Abubakar Says Nigerians Are Waiting For The PDP To Return To Power In 2023

Former Vice President, ATIKU ABUBAKAR has said Nigerians are waiting eagerly for the Peoples Democratic Party to take over power at the federal level in 2023.

He said Nigerians can now see the difference between when the PDP was in power and the six year of the ruling APC.

According to him, insecurity and unemployment have never been "this bad" in Nigeria.

The former Vice President disclosed this to newsmen at the end of his private visit to Rivers State Governor', NYESOM WIKE in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

ATIKU said his meeting with WIKE was fruitful.

He explained that party affairs brought him to Port Harcourt, and that he had spent the time reconciling touching issues with Governor WIKE.

IG Of Police Orders An “Internal Review Of Allegations” Against Abba Kyari, By US Court

Inspector-General of Police, USMAN BABA, has ordered an "internal review of the allegations" against a Deputy Commissioner of Police, ABBA KYARI, by a United States Court.

Force spokesman, FRANK MBA made this known in a statement in Abuja.

Earlier, the United States District Court for the Central District of California said alleged international fraudster, RAMON ABBAS aka HUSHPUPPI used KYARI to arrest and jail a co-conspirator, CHIBUZO VINCENT.

Reaffirming the Force's commitment to the pursuit of justice and the strengthening of its professional relationship with the FBI and other international partners, the IGP said further developments on the case will be communicated to members of the public accordingly.

President Buhari Promise Nigeria Will Increase Education Budget Up To 100% By 2025

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has pledged to increase the budget for the education sector by as much as 50 per cent over the next two years.

In the long term, he promised that budgetary allocation to the sector would witness a progressive increase to about 100 per cent in the next four years.

The President made the commitment in a document titled, 'Heads of State Call to Action on Education Financing" ahead of the Global Education Summit,' in London.

The Minister of State for Education, CHUKWUEMEKA NWAJIUBA, who was among those who accompanied the President to the Summit spoke more on the development.

The event is expected to bring together Heads of State and Government, as well as stakeholders and youth leaders, and provide a platform for partners to chart a way forward towards transforming education systems in partner countries, through the exchange of best practices.

It will also offer the opportunity for leaders to make five-year pledges to support GPE's work to help transform education systems in up to 90 countries and territories.

FG Set To Spend N36bn To Curb Covid-19 Third Wave In The Country

The Federal Government is set to release N36bn to states as part of measures to curb the rising COVID-19 cases and prevent the third wave of the virus.

The Benue State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, JOSEPH NGBEA, who disclosed this in an interview stated that the Federal Government promised to release the fund before the end of this month.

NGBEA, also indicated that state commissioners of health would meet next week with the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 and the Federal Ministry of Health officials.

It was gathered that the meeting, would among others, map out ways to shore up testing, which according to a report has dropped by 29 per in the last one month.

This came to the fore as the country recorded 404 cases on Tuesday, the highest in the last one month.

No fewer than 1,276 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the country between May 27 and June 27.
