Ali Baba Says COVID-19 Is Real, Laments People Are Truly Dying

As the third wave of the COVID-19 continues to rear its ugly head killing more than 500 people in Lagos and over 1000 Nigerians in total over the past weeks, a popular comedian and entertainer, Ali Baba has urged Nigerians to be cautious and stay safe.

Ali Baba who himself contracted the virus during its second wave, recounted how he almost died in isolation as he exhausted more than six cylinders before getting better.

The king of comedy as he loves to be addressed, noted that he was alarmed seeing that people don’t believe that the virus exists and it is currently ravaging lives and killing people in its wake

Ali Baba urged his friend and fans to take responsibility for their safety by observing all COVID-19 protocols, adding that taking the doses does totally immune one to the virus.

Ali Baba in his words said: “COVID-19 is real. Even if you have been vaccinated, it is imperative that you stay safe and keep others safe too".

ACF Says Everything Is Wrong With Security After Bandits Kill Two Officers In NDA Campus

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed dismay over the attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) by bandits, who killed two officers and kidnapped another in the process.

Reacting in a statement issued by its spokesman, Emmanuel Yawe, ACF said it is sad that “ordinary street bandits” could invade the NDA.

Yawe said the officer abducted must be rescued and those behind the attack be brought to book.

“We of the ACF have said it again and again that there is everything seriously wrong with the management of our security. The other day a Nigerian Airforce fighter aircraft was shot down by the so-called bandits.

“Today the factory where all Nigerian military officers are produced has been invaded and desecrated. What else do we need to show that our national security system is running in reverse gear?”

FG Approves Sinopharm COVID Vaccine

As the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic scourge continues to fester, the Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Faisal Shuaib, has said that the Federal government has approved the immediate use of the Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV COVID-19 vaccine in Nigeria.

The approval of the Sinopharm vaccine is coming weeks after NAFDAC approved the Moderna and Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccines for emergency use in Nigeria.

The Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine is an inactivated COVID-19 vaccine, which was approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) for emergency use.

Speaking in Abuja, Shuaib said the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) approved the vaccine, adding that the vaccine was developed by Sinopharm’s Beijing Institute of Biological Products,

NIMET Warns Of Impending Flood In 32 States

Nigerians have been warned by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency, (NIMET), to brace up for possible flash floods across 32 states in the next three days.

According to a statement released by the agency, which was made available to Inspiration FM News, , NIMET noted that the moderate to heavy rainfall could lead to flash floods in states like. Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, and Bauchi.

Other States prone to the floods are Gombe, Yobe, Kebbi, Niger, FCT, Plateau, Adamawa, Taraba, Kwara, Oyo, Lagos, Ondo, and Ogun.

States like Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo, Anambra, Abia and River are also not exempted

Consequently, the Nigeria Meteorological Agency warned Nigerians in these 32 states that the slim chances of flash flood could be more pronounced on roads, settlements, farmlands and bridges.
