DSS Appeals Bail Granted To Aides Of Sunday Igboho

Department of State Services (DSS), has told the Federal High Court in Abuja, that it has appealed the bail granted four of the 12 detained associates of Sunday Adeyemo, (aka Sunday Igboho).

At yesterday’s proceedings, counsel to the DSS, Idowu Awo, told the court that the agency was withdrawing an earlier application seeking to nullify the bail granted to the four.

He said since he had filed a notice of appeal against the bail granted to the four detainees, he would prefer to pursue the appeal at the appellate court.

After the withdrawal of the application, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, struck out the motion since there was no objection from the counsel to the detainees, Mr Sunday Adebayo.

Adebayo said the release order of the four had been signed since they had perfected their bail conditions and he expressed optimism that the DSS would release them upon receiving the release order.

He, however, said for the eight, the sureties that withdrew had been replaced and his team was working to ensure that they also perfected their bail conditions so that they too could regain their freedom.

Presidency Has Blocked Me From Seeing Buhari, Says Governor Samuel Ortom

Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has said since being blocked from visiting President Muhammadu Buhari by those in Aso Villa, that he has turned to using the mass media as a way of reaching out to the president.

The governor accused Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore of continued sponsorship of herdsmen to attack, maim, rape and ransack helpless communities in Benue State, which claimed has led to the displacement of about 1.5 million persons.

He said there was no land in Benue State for open grazing, but there is land for ranching for any interested applicant.

According to Governor Orton, the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has brought the country to 20 years of retrogression, and when I advised the president on what should be the way forward, they would insult me to divert attention, how can I keep quiet when my People are being killed and displaced.
