NLC Demands Salary Review For Workers

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, has asked the Federal Civil Service to review salaries and welfare of public servants.

He made the demand in Abuja during a meeting of the National Public Service Negotiating Councils attended by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan.

Wabba commended the federal government for the implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation said there could be consequences if salaries are reviewed upward.

His lead counsel, Mike Ozekhome, drew the attention of the Judge to the treatment his client was being subjected to in the custody of the DSS.

He said Kanu was still being kept in solitary confinement, adding that inmates who greeted him were also being subjected to the same treatment.

The Media Aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu, in a statement on Tuesday, said the President’s strong legacy would be difficult to dismantle.

He explained the reasons why President Buhari cannot take a “business as usual approach” in governance.

According to him, many of the political elites in the country cannot wait for the President’s second term in office to end as they wish for a return to the “good old days” of helping themselves to public funds with abandon.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee Chairman Mai Mala Buni has announced February 26 as the date for the APC convention.

Buni, who is also the governor of Yobe State, said this on Tuesday at the national progressive women conference 2022 holding at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.

He urged women in the APC to come out en masse and vote for the party in the next circle of elections in the country.
