President Buhari Has Launched The Revised National Policy On Population For Sustainable Development In Abuja

President Buhari stressed the need for urgent measures to address Nigeria’s high fertility rate, through expanding access to modern contraceptive methods across the country.

The President also inaugurated the National Council on Population Management (NCPM), chaired by him, and the Vice President as the deputy chairman with Heads of relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as members.

Speaking on the country’s revised population policy, Buhari said its overall goal is to improve the quality of life and standards of living of all Nigerians, which is one of the major aspirations of this Government.

The House of Representatives yesterday adjourned a plenary session over the absence of order paper to guide the day’s proceedings.

The Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, adjourned the plenary to Tuesday, February 8.

Infuriated by the development, the Speaker, expressed disappointment over the attitude of the officer in charge of the paper.

He subsequently asked that the officer be redeployed to another unit and replaced immediately.

Presidential Aspirant Okorocha Reports Efcc To President Buhari Over ‘Harassment’

Former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja, to seek his intervention on his alleged unjust harassment from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Okorocha, who is the senator representing Imo West senatorial district, has also accused the people he described as cowards of being behind his ordeal.
