LP, NNPP, APC Pour Cold Water On Atiku’s Merger Proposal

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has said it is not interested in the merger offer proposed by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Abdulrazaq Abdulsalam, the NNPP said it is an independent political group that values inclusivity and maintains a non-partisan approach.

Abdulsalam said it is crucial to note that those engaging in the merger talk have been expelled from NNPP, and the party currently faces internal conflicts, pending court resolutions.

The statement therefore said until proven otherwise, its internal matters take precedence.

It emphasized that the resolution of the Board of Trustees remains that the Abba Kawu-led NWC is dissolved and its 2023 Presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, remains expelled from the party.
