Yesterday, the Northern Traditional Council, NTC, led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, conveyed a stark message to the Federal Government regarding the escalating challenges of hardship, insecurity, poverty, and unemployment in Nigeria, particularly in the North.
During the 6th executive meeting of the Northern Traditional Council Committee at the Arewa House, Kaduna, the Sultan emphasized that traditional rulers, religious leaders, and state governors have been tirelessly attempting to quell potential revolts among the populace due to their profound discontent with the prevailing socioeconomic conditions.
Expressing concern over the worsening situation, the Sultan warned that the populace's patience might wear thin, leading to widespread unrest if meaningful solutions are not promptly implemented. He stressed the importance of addressing the root causes of poverty and insecurity, calling for collaborative efforts between traditional leaders, political leaders, and other stakeholders.
