5 Forbidden Places In The World Cannot Visit

It's interesting that there are some locations in the globe that are entirely off-limits to visitors for one reason or another, unless you're a scholar or a daredevil ready to risk your health and, occasionally, your life.

Here are some places in the world where visitors are not allowed;

1. Snake Island, Brazil

Ilha de Queimada Granda, sometimes referred to as Snake Island, is home to tens of thousands of the world's deadliest snakes. Some estimates place the number of snakes on the island at one per square meter. There are also said to be about 4000 golden lanceheads on the island. Public access to Snake Island is prohibited for obvious reasons.

2. Lascaux cave, France

The cave complex that makes up this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to some of the most well-known Paleolithic cave drawings that have ever been found. The paintings, which date to around 17000 years ago, mostly show pictures of enormous creatures that have been identified via fossil excavation as being in the region at that time.

In 1963, the public was fully barred from the caverns because the presence of tourists and the flood of light led to a number of issues, including the growth of lichen, bacteria, and fungi.

3. Svalbard Global Seed Vault, Norway

This worldwide seed vault, often known as the Doomsday vault, has around 100 million seeds from all over the world in case something awful occurs to the planet's flora.

It was inaugurated in 2008 with a 200-year lifespan in mind. Both earthquakes and bombs won't damage it. It was positioned on a mountainside so that it would remain above sea level even if all the ice on Earth melted.

4. North Sentinel Island, India

The Sentinelese tribe of India, an indigenous people living in intentional seclusion, is located on the North Sentinel Island. They have vehemently shunned all interaction with the outside world. About this tribe, which has lived on the Island for more than 60 thousand years, not much is known.

In fact, the Sentinelese would attempt to murder you if you stepped foot on the Island. In 2006, two illegally fishing fisherman perished after their boat wandered too near to the island.

The Indian government forbade travel within three miles of the Island after several failed attempts to contact this group. One of the world's most hazardous and banned locations is North Sentinel Island.

 5. Poveglia, Italy

Locals claim that this little island off the coast of Venice is the world's most haunted location. Poveglia served as a quarantine location for persons suffering from the bubonic plague in the 1700s. In 1922, the Island buildings were eventually transformed into a facility for people with mental illnesses.

Since 1968, when the mental institution was shut down, it has been unoccupied. There are rumors that the ghosts of disease, war, and asylum doctor who murdered patients walk the abandoned premises.

Lai Mohammed: Senate’s Threat To Impeach Buhari Is Uncalled For

Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, has responded to threats to remove President Muhammadu Buhari from office made by some lawmakers because to national security concerns.

Lai Mohammed referred to certain terrorists' threats to kidnap the President as absurd.

Mohammed, however, claimed that the possibility of impeachment is unwarranted since the Presidency is not treating the challenges of insecurity lightly when he spoke to State House reporters on Wednesday, July 27 in Abuja, following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

The Minister said, “I want to assure you that the President is aware of all these and as a matter of fact, I think tomorrow there’s going to be another Security Council meeting.

“So, it’s not a matter the President is taking lightly and like I’ll always say, some of the measures we’re going to take are not measures that you can discuss openly here, but we’re as concerned as you are, we’re not going to abandon our responsibility.”

Recall that Buhari was given a six-week deadline by senators from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to resolve the security issues or face impeachment proceedings.

In a related development, Lai Mohammed referred to certain terrorists' threats to kidnap the President as absurd.

After the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, he made the remark.

As to those who have issued threats to Mr President, I think it is more of propaganda than anything, it is laughable,” Mr Mohammed said on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

“I want to reassure you that the government is up to the task of ensuring security. Security challenges will come anywhere in the world. The important thing is the fact that you do not lose focus and you continue to work assiduously to overcome it.

Peter Obi Visits Egypt To ‘Understudy Country’s Education, Power, Finance Sectors’

Peter Obi, who was elected as the flagbearer of the Labour Party in May, has consistently said his focus will be on moving Nigeria from “consumption to production”.

The change occurs during the presidential election campaign in February 2023.

Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra and presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has flown out of Nigeria to “understudy Egypt’s education sector”.

Obi announced the trip through his official Twitter handle on Tuesday.

He said the three-day visit to the north-eastern African country is to understudy its power, education, planning and finance sectors.

“I just departed for Egypt on a 3-day visit as part of my detailed study of comparable countries to Nigeria,” he wrote.

“In Egypt, I am expected to understudy, among others, the Egyptian Power Sector, Education, Planning and Finance Sectors.”

The change occurs when the 2023 presidential election campaign is underway.

Meanwhile, Obi's choice to travel to Egypt has drawn a range of responses.

Another Bandits Attack On Kaduna-Abuja Road; Several Travellers Abducted

Bandits have again attacked commuters along the Abuja-Kaduna highway and abducted an unspecified number of travelers.

Spokesman of the Kaduna Police Command Mohammed Jalige said the bandits blocked the Audu Ogbe portion of the Highway, near Katari village.

He said the bandits intercepted some vehicles, and in the process, took some persons away to an unknown destination.

Jalige said the prompt response and arrival of security operatives attached to the highway, prevented the terrorists from abducting more travelers.

The spokesman explained that the security operatives engaged the criminals in a gun duel and successfully repelled them from further attacks.
