Elon Musk Responds To Backlash Over Twitter Blue Tick Fee: ‘Continue Complaining’

Twitter's new CEO, Elon Musk, has stated unequivocally that he will not change his mind about charging a monthly fee for Twitter's "Blue Tick."

Musk proposed an $8 price for the new Twitter Blue membership shortly after taking over as CEO of Twitter. This is the first time a Twitter user had to pay for a verification badge.

Musk's new strategy has sparked widespread outrage on the site. But Musk has a strong retort for all complainants.

On Twitter, he warned detractors, "To all complainers, please continue complaining, but it will cost $8."

He also discussed the Twitter Blue situation. Priority will be given to comments, mentions, and searches; lengthier movies and audio can be submitted; advertisements will be reduced by half, and publishers will be able to bypass paywalls.

Elon has stated that Twitter will display a "secondary tag" for public personalities, which appears to be in place for politicians at the moment. This will aid in visually distinguishing significant accounts from the general population.

According to previous rumors, Elon Musk may have given Twitter engineers a deadline of November 7, 2022, to implement the new Twitter Blue service, suggesting that the debut may be closer than many believe.

Elon stated that the pricing will be modified based on "country proportional to purchasing power parity."

World Dirtiest Man Dies At 94 In Iran

An Iranian hermit known as the "world's dirtiest man" for not having a shower for more than 60 years has died at the ripe old age of 94, according to official media.

According to the Irna news agency, "Amou Haji," an affectionate nickname for an elderly person, died on Sunday in the hamlet of Dejgah in Fars' southern region of Fars.

Local media stated that Haji, who was coated in soot and lived in a cinder-block shanty, had not washed with water or soap in more than 60 years. Villagers claimed he refused to wash because of "emotional difficulties in his boyhood."

‘Amou Haji’, who did not bathe for half a century, reportedly ate roadkill and smoked pipe filled with animal excrement.

But a few months ago, villagers had persuaded him to wash for the first time, Irna reported.

After Haji’s death, the unofficial record could go to an Indian man who also had not bathed for much of his life.

After Haji’s death, the unofficial record could go to an Indian man who also had not bathed for much of his life.

In 2009 the Hindustan Times reported that Kailash “Kalau” Singh, from a village outside the holy city of Varanasi, had not washed for more than 30 years in an attempt to help end “all the problems confronting the nation”.

He would reject water in favour of what he called a “fire bath”. “Every evening as villagers gather, Kalau … lights a bonfire, smokes marijuana and stands on a leg praying to Lord Shiva,” the paper said.

Singh was reported to have said: “It’s just like using water to take a bath. Fire bath helps kill all the germs and infections in the body.”

‘Don’t Mourn The Queen’, Sowore Tells Nigerians

Since the 96-year-old queen's death was announced, there have been divisive comments on social media.

Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress presidential candidate, has encouraged Nigerians not to grieve Queen Elizabeth II since she did not die for them.

On Thursday, September 8, 2022, the Queen died at Balmoral, aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

Since the 96-year-old queen's death was announced, there have been divisive comments on social media.

Reacting to the monarch’s death, the presidential candidate in a Facebook post said Nigerians should not mourn the Queen, adding that her death should mark the end of the Commonwealth.“Don’t mourn the Queen, she didn’t die for you! The death of the Queen should herald the end of the “Commonwealth” #WeCantContinueLikeThis

In another post, Sowore said, “If Nigeria is going to be part of the “Commonwealth” under my watch as President, then Nigerians must be able to travel to all Commonwealth countries without a visa! #WeCantContinueLikeThis

Sowore's Facebook remarks echoed the sentiments of Uju Anya, a Nigerian academic in the United States, who claimed that the Queen provided the Nigerian government with arms and ammunition to battle the Igbos during Nigeria's three-year civil war.

Many, on the other hand, chastised the lecturer for wishing the Queen a "excruciating" death.

Strike: Buhari Told To Sell 8 Presidential Jets To Pay ASUU

Advice has been given to President Muhammadu Buhari on how to end the protracted strike that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, or ASUU, has declared.

Eight of Buhari's presidential jets should be sold, and the money raised should be used to satisfy ASUU's demands.

Reno Omokri, a former advisor to former President Goodluck Jonathan, made this remark in a string of tweets.

Omokri emphasized that whereas ASUU wanted less than $100 million, the Nigerian presidential fleet was valued at over $200 million.

He criticized the presidential fleet for having just roughly 10 jets to support one president.

According to Omokri,“How much is ASUU asking for? Less than $100 million to fund universities. Buhari has 10 Presidential jets worth over $200 million.

“Why not sell eight and use the money for ASUU? The British PM does not have an official jet. These are the kinds of things Atiku would do!

“Nigeria has no national airline to serve 210 million people. But we have 10 Presidential jets to serve 1 President. No be juju be that?

“That is why ASUU is adamant. Money is not our problem. Our issue is how we spend the little money we have! Atiku will change that!”

Due to the government's failure to uphold a 2019 deal, ASUU have been on strike since February 2022.

The government's insistence on using IPPIS against UTAS to pay lecturers is a contributing factor in the conflict.

ASUU recently announced an extended strike after negotiations with the administration broke down.
