President Buhari Vows To Defeat Bandits Who Massacred 51 villagers in Kaduna State.

President Buhari has vowed to defeat rampaging bandits who massacred 51 villagers in Kaduna State on Sunday.

 

The bandits attacked six villages of Kerawa, Rago, Marina, Zariyawa, Hashimawa, Gidan Musa Saidu, and Unguwar Barau – within the three Local Government Areas.

 

President Buhari in a statement by his media aide expressed deep sadness and regret over the latest bandits attack in Kaduna State.

 

He assured the people of Kaduna State and other parts of the country that this government would continue to deploy all available resources to fight these cold-hearted bandits with a view to bringing them to their knees.

Hassan Stan-Labo Berates The Senate Over The Proposed Bill On Rehabilitation Of Repentatnt Boko Haram Sects.

The federal government has been charged to reject the proposed bill by the Senate with aim of rehabilitating repentatnt Boko Haram sects.

 

Retired colonel, Hassan Stan-Labo who made this call in an interview also berated the senate and Senator Ibrahim Gaidam who sponsored the bill.

 

The retired colonel was reacting to the comment made by the Kaduna state Governor Nasir El-Rufai when he visited communities invaded by armed bandits who killed at least fifty residents.

 

He said the issue of amnesty for repentant Boko Haram sects is a misplaced priority.

Vice President Says Federal Government Will Curb Proliferation Of Light Weapons

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has given an assurance that the Federal Government would soon develop a clear-cut set of strategies to curb and curtail the proliferation of small and light weapons in the country.

 

He gave the assurance at a meeting with top security chiefs and members of the Presidential Committee on Small Arms and Light Weapons in Abuja.

 

According to a statement by his media aide, Laolu Akande, Prof Osinbajo chaired the inaugural meeting of the committee in line with the directive of the President.

 

The vice president decried that this fuelled the insurgency in the North East and other security challenges in the country.

Ministry Of Health Says There Is No New Case Of Coronavirus In The Country.

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire has said no new person has tested positive to the deadly coronavirus.

 

He also announced that four Chinese nationals quarantined in Plateau state have tested negative for Covid-19.

 

The Plateau state government had earlier reported four suspected cases of the corona virus on Saturday and placed the individuals on quarantine.

 

While speaking at a news briefing in Abuja, the Minister said none of those cases have any symptoms and that they have all been tested at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control reference laboratory.
