June 18, 2021 Ways To Avoid Being Insecure And Boost Your Confidence

Ways To Avoid Being Insecure And Boost Your Confidence

Insecurity is a common problem amongst humans. It’s normal to have down days where you feel you can’t seem to do anything right. But feeling insecure about yourself all the time can take a toll on every aspect of your life, from your physical health and emotional well-being to how you perform at your job.

Below are some steps to deal with insecurity:

Affirm Your Own Value

Take inventory of everything you’re doing right. Chances are, your thoughts about yourself aren’t taking into account the hundreds of positive micro-decisions we make on a daily basis.

Remembering how you helped your neighbor with their groceries or assisted your boss during an important meeting, can help you focus on your contributions rather than shortcomings.

Channel Your Thinking into Something Positive

Insecurity is mostly psychological and it is caused by what you feel you don’t have. You may look at other people and things thy have achieved, and deep down that you want to be like those people. Don’t get it wrong, wanting to be like them is not a problem but obsessing over it breeds insecurity.

One way to defeat this is to train your mind to think positively about life and its outcome. If you feel insecure about giving a speech, say some affirming words like, “I can talk in public, I am bold, I am eloquent”, these are words of affirmation that can boost your moral. Sometimes if you are stuck in a psychological state, try to change your environment and get to a fun place to free up your mind a bit.

Take Care of Your Needs First

If you’re always looking after everyone’s needs and forgetting yours, you’re not placing value on yourself. Adding more self-care to can counter negative thoughts and build up your self-worth.

Some ways to show more love to yourself:

  • Nurture your body by getting a massage.
  • Workout at least 30mins a day.
  • Take a social media detox.
  • Practice self-compassion; talk nicely to yourself.
  • Eat regularly and prioritize sleep.

Embrace Your Awkward Self

There are character traits you think is weird about you. Appreciate and accept it with self-love. If it’s bad, work on it. There will be moments when you fumble, see it as just part of life. Accepting this fact can help you feel more comfortable about yourself. The next time you find yourself feeling embarrassed or awkward, try to forgive yourself first, accept that errors are bound to happen and then work on it.

Spend Time with People Who Love You

Surround yourself with loving, supportive people to build up your confidence and make you feel accepted for who you are.

Setup more dates and outings with the people you love. When other people tend to comment the good qualities in you, it will help you appreciate your own unique qualities and perspectives.

Here Are Natural Ways To Fight Bad Mouth Odour

Bad breath typically originates in the mouth, where bacteria are ever present.

Bad breath affects an estimated 25 percent of people. it is also estimated to affect 1 in 4 people globally. The most common cause of halitosis is bad oral hygiene. If particles of food are left in the mouth, their breakdown by bacteria produces sulfur compounds.

The good news is that with lifestyle changes and natural remedies, you can get rid of bad breath naturally.  The reality is that bad breath can be caused by some health conditions, foods, and even habits.  Here are natural ways to fight bad mouth odour:

Green Tea

Research has found that green tea temporarily reduces malodor due to its antibacterial and deodorant action. This is probably due to the actions of the polyphenols, antioxidants it contains.

 Aloe Vera

You can make your own Aloe Vera mouthwash to combat bad breath. Simply boil some water and add aloe Vera gel once it is cooled. You can also add peppermint oil to taste.

Drink water

Drink plenty of water and swish cool water around in your mouth. This is especially helpful to freshen “morning breath.”

Ginger

Ginger has many health and beauty benefits aside from its culinary purposes. It can be used to fight halitosis. Just dice fresh ginger, wash and blend with lemon. Rinse after 15 minutes to get rid of bad odor.

Rinse with coconut oil

Sluicing with coconut oil for ten to 15 minutes can remove any bacteria hiding in your mouth to give you fresh breath.

June 9, 2021 6 Foods To Avoid During Your Period

6 Foods To Avoid During Your Period

Period cramp is one of the most painful feelings that exist in a woman’s world.

Avoid Caffeinated drinks

Caffeine increases estrogen levels in your body during your period and can worsen cramps. Drinking caffeinated drinks before or during your period causes the narrowing of your blood vessels, also known as vasoconstriction, which worsen period cramps. No matter how much you crave such drinks during your period, girl, avoid them.

Cold water

There’s really no scientific evidence against the intake of cold water or cold drinks during periods. However, prostaglandins – which are chemicals in the body that contribute to the shedding of the uterus walls to result in menstrual flow – can cause sharp period pains at high levels. It is necessary for you to study your body and take note of how it reacts to cold foods during your period and act accordingly.

Spicy foods

Ladies, you all know period poop is the most painful bowel activity that exists in the history of excretion. As such, any type of food that can cause it should be avoided. Most importantly, if spicy foods do not usually sit well with your stomach, it will be best to avoid them during your period.

Avoid sugary foods

Sugar is the menstrual period’s most popular enemy. Eating sugary foods or sweets does not only increase period pains, but also contributes to mood swings. Yes, mood swings! It can cause mood fluctuations which can lead to anxiety and depression in extreme cases hence you should either regulate its intake or avoid it totally.

Alcohol

You’re free to eat or drink whatever you crave during your period but at all cost please avoid alcohol. Aside from dehydrating you, a hangover is not something you will like to give permission to torment you with period cramps.

Avoid dairy products

It’s not a crime to have a sweet tooth but you might want to avoid cheese, ice cream, and all diary-based products during your period. Most, if not all, of these products are high in arachidonic acid which makes period cramps worse. I’d skip that ice cream if I were you.

In order not to be in the black books of period pains, eat fresh fruits and vegetables in addition to your normal meals and drink lots of water, and you’ll be fine in all of those five or so seven days of every month. Wink.
