Drama As Lagos FA Board Suspends Chairman Oki

In a decisive move, the Lagos State Football Association board suspended its chairman during a meeting held at the LSFA office on Ogunlana Drive, Surulere, Lagos. The suspension resulted from a majority vote, with five members in favour and four against.

The embattled FA boss, Mr. Oki, faced allegations of gross misconduct, including actions that contravened the rules and regulations of the Nigeria Football Federation. Among the charges against him were:

Failure to attend the NFF Congress without proper justification and without informing the LSFA Board.

He is unilaterally changing the association's logo without obtaining approval from the board and Congress.

Denying the Nigerian Professional League A1 Camera delegates access to test the A1 camera before the league's commencement.

Disregarding NFF instructions regarding NPFL rules and regulations concerning branding and match streaming by their affiliate, Sporting Lagos FC.

Additionally, Oki was accused of releasing the logistics for the 2023/24 NNL season to NNL clubs without board knowledge, delaying and halting various youth tournaments and recreational football events. He was also alleged to have threatened teams to relocate from Lagos and initiated actions to make LSFA independent outside the jurisdiction of the NFF.

The board further claimed that Oki had a strained relationship with the Lagos State Sports Commission concerning facility usage and was responsible for damaging an otherwise harmonious association.

Following his suspension, Oki was accused of physically assaulting his vice chairman, Olawale Gafar. A video that circulated online depicted Gafaar expressing his discontent: "It's over, sir; we can't take this anymore; you (Oki) slapped me. Chairman, you slapped me and punched me in my throat. I'll take anything for football; I’m taking this again for football. This is our destiny, our lives; the oppression is over, and the board is suspending you unanimously," Gafaar told Oki.

Joshua Vs Wilder: Heavyweight Fight Delayed To March 2024

Fans eagerly anticipating Anthony Joshua's showdown with Deontay Wilder will have to wait a bit longer, as the earliest potential date for the fight has now been rescheduled to March.

Initially, plans were in place for Joshua and Wilder to lock horns in the Middle East, either December or January. However, due to unforeseen delays, Joshua is set to take part in an interim fight before the much-anticipated encounter with the American pugilist next spring.

Joshua's most recent fight occurred in August when he secured a victory over Robert Helenius. Unfortunately, it later emerged that the Finnish boxer had failed a pre-fight drug test. This revelation added to the drama surrounding Joshua's career.

Additionally, there's another exciting prospect on the horizon for Joshua. Suppose Tyson Fury's expected undisputed match against Oleksandr Usyk takes place on December 23 in Saudi Arabia, and the IBF title becomes vacant. In that case, Joshua is being considered for the IBF world title.

Over the past three years, Anthony Joshua has engaged in four pivotal fights, claiming victory in two and experiencing defeat in two. His consecutive losses came in a world title fight against Usyk.

However, he quickly rebounded with triumphant performances against Jermaine Franklin and a knockout win over Helenius, solidifying his place as a formidable force in the heavyweight division.

Nollywood Actress Iyabo Ojo Provides Updates On Mohbad’s Investigation

Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has shared important updates regarding the investigation into the untimely passing of Nigerian singer Mohbad, who tragically lost his life on September 12, 2023.

On Tuesday, October 17, Ojo took to Instagram to reveal that the Nigeria Police Force is still awaiting the toxicology results from the autopsy conducted on the late singer.

Furthermore, she disclosed that Mohbad's case has now been transferred to the Directorate of Public Prosecution and expressed concern that his body has remained unreleased since his exhumation in September. Ojo also shed light on a significant detail: the surveillance cameras in Mohbad's residence were never operational, leaving no footage to shed light on the circumstances surrounding his death.

The actress also shared information about the questioning of Mohbad's wife. To her knowledge, Mohbad's wife has been interrogated three times. Two instances occurred when Mohbad's father was televised, addressing the public about his son's case. Later that same day, Mohbad's father, mother, and wife were taken to the Panti Police Station for further interrogation and to provide their statements. Another round of questioning occurred on September 21, 2023, during which Tonto and Senator Ishaku Abbo met with Mohbad's wife, explaining her absence from previous public appearances.

Mohbad's sudden and mysterious death in September prompted nationwide peaceful protests, calling for a thorough police investigation. The demand for an autopsy led to the police exhuming his body from his grave in Ikorodu. Despite the police attributing the singer's death to adverse reactions from three injections administered by an auxiliary nurse, Nigerians are still awaiting critical results from the autopsy, including the toxicology report.

After extensive questioning of more than 20 individuals, the police have identified five suspects in the Mohbad case. These suspects include Feyisayo Ogendengbe, the nurse administering the injections at the singer's residence, and Ayobami Sadiq, known as Spending, who invited the nurse.
