Nuno’s Spurs Future In Doubt After Man Utd Defeat

Nuno Espirito Santo's future as Tottenham manager is in doubt after just 17 games following Saturday's 3-0 home defeat by Manchester United.

Chairman Daniel Levy and managing director of football Fabio Paratici have held talks about Nuno's future.

The former Wolves boss, 47, was appointed on a two-year deal in June.

But despite a promising start to the season, Spurs have now lost five of their last seven Premier League matches.

They are eighth in the Premier League, 10 points behind leaders Chelsea, and failed to register a shot on target during Saturday's loss.

If Levy decides to act, Paulo Fonseca could come back into the frame to replace fellow Portuguese Nuno.

The former Roma boss, 48, was on the brink of being appointed in the summer until he was ditched in favour of Gennaro Gattuso,  only for the ex-Italy midfielder to prove unsuitable due to some questionable comments that appeared on social media.

Newcastle United's new owners have already held talks with Fonseca as they continue their search for Steve Bruce's replacement.

Leeds United Heap More Misery On Troubled Norwich City

Bottom club Norwich City remain without a Premier League win 10 games into the season after slumping to defeat against fellow strugglers Leeds United at Carrow Road.

After a dour first half, the match burst into life when Raphinha dribbled past three players to fire the visitors into a 56th-minute lead after being picked out by Dan James.

Norwich were level inside two minutes when 19-year-old defender Andrew Omobamidele headed home from a corner needlessly conceded by keeper Illan Meslier.

But Leeds restored their advantage on the hour through Rodrigo's long-range effort after Norwich had lost possession outside their own box.

It was an improved performance by the Canaries after their humiliating 7-0 defeat at Chelsea last week, but Daniel Farke's side have now lost eight of their 10 matches since winning the Championship with 97 points last season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Scores 400th Career Goal As AC Milan Edge Past Roma

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his 400th league goal and won a penalty as AC Milan claimed a narrow victory over Roma in Serie A.

Milan's win moves them level on points with league leaders Napoli.

Ibrahimovic, 40, opened the scoring with a free-kick and Franck Kessie converted from the spot after Roma's Roger Ibanez fouled the Swede.

Theo Hernandez was sent off for Milan, with Stephan El Shaarawy scoring in added time against his former club.

Earlier on Sunday, Napoli edged to a 1-0 win at struggling Salernitana and, like Milan, have won 10 of their first 11 games this term.

West Ham Thrash 10-Man Villa To Strengthen Top-Four Credentials

West Ham pushed their top-four credentials as they thrashed 10-man Aston Villa to condemn them to a fourth consecutive Premier League defeat.

The result leaves David Moyes' side level on points with third-placed Manchester City in fourth, while Villa remain 15th, three points above the bottom three.

Ben Johnson opened the scoring for the visitors with a low drive into the bottom left corner from 18 yards after being picked out by Declan Rice's cross-field pass.

And Rice drove into the same corner to restore the Hammers' lead after Ollie Watkins had swept home an equaliser following good work from Emiliano Buendia near the byline.

Though Villa rallied and saw Watkins head against the bar from John McGinn's cross their hopes of taking anything from the contest were ultimately undermined by Ezri Konsa's dismissal for a foul on Jarrod Bowen.
