Anambra state police command, has said it was not excited by the decision of the proscribed IPOB to call off her sit-at-home order.

The state Deputy commissioner of police, Aderemi Adeoye also said the declaration by the proscribed group will not make the police to lower the guard activated for Saturday’s election.

While speaking ahead of the election, Aderemi Adeoye said the police and other security agencies are fully on ground to ensure safety of lives and properties during and after the poll.

He also reacted to those kicking against the massive deployment of security personnel to Anambra state.

Police Confirm Release of Professors, Other Abducted Staff of University of Abuja

Two Professors and other members of staff of the University of Abuja who were kidnapped recently have regained their freedom.

You will recall that some criminal elements suspected to be kidnappers had invaded the staff quarters of the university on Monday and whisked some residents to unknown destination.

A day after their abduction, the kidnappers contacted families of the victims and demanded N300 million as condition for their release.

But spokesman of the Federal Capital Territory Command, DSP Josephine Adeh confirmed their release to today.

According to her, the development followed the efforts of the command in a joint operation with other security agencies.

She stated that some suspects linked to the crime have been nabbed by security operatives.

NCC Fixes 5G Reserve Price At N75bn

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has fixed the reserve price for the auction of the fifth generation (5G) spectrum at N75 billion ($197.4 million), noting the exercise will take place on December 13, 2021.

The NCC, which explained in detail to a group of the telecommunications stakeholders in Lagos, also gave timelines, strategy and comments of telecommunications operators to the draft information memorandum (IM) for the auction of the 3.5GHz spectrum band, as part of its 5G technology deployment plan.

The commission plans to conduct the 5G spectrum auction with a reserve price starting at $197,400,000 for two lots of 100 MHz on offer in the first phase of the auction in the 3.5GHz band while an Initial Bid Deposit (IBD) equal to 10 per cent of the reserve price will be adopted in line with the previous auction.

The NCC said it plans to use the Ascending Clock Auction which is software based. It said provisions have been made for manual auction should the auction software fail during the auction process.

NCC plans to have a mock auction on December 6, 2021 which shall precede the main auction on December 13, 2021.
