Paul Pogba Likely To Miss Rest Of Year With Thigh Injury

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba fears he could be ruled out until the New Year with a thigh injury sustained on France duty.

The World Cup winner suffered the injury while training with France on Monday ahead of their World Cup Qualifiers against Kazakhstan at home on Saturday and Finland away on November 16.

He will be assessed by the Manchester United medical staff to determine the severity of the injury.

The French Football Federation said Pogba, 28, was the "victim of an injury to the quadriceps of the right thigh".

Pogba is already unavailable for United's Premier League game at Watford on November 20 as he completes a three-game ban following his red card against Liverpool on October 24.

Kieran Tierney Fitness Boost For Scotland’s World Cup Qualifiers

Kieran Tierney should be fit for Scotland's World Cup qualifying visit to Moldova on Friday, says assistant coach John Carver.

The defender has missed four games for Arsenal, last playing on 18 October.

However, he was an unused substitute for Sunday's 1-0 win at home to Watford after recovering from an ankle problem.

"He has come into the camp and trained exceptionally well, so we don't see any problems with him," said Carver.

"He looked great this morning, full of running. He has been out some time now but he was on the bench at the weekend."

A win in Chisinau will wrap up a World Cup play-off spot with one match to spare.

West Ham’s Angelo Ogbona Suffers ACL Injury

West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna damaged knee ligaments during Sunday's Premier League win against Liverpool.

Ogbonna, 33, was forced off with an eye injury during the first half but later complained of discomfort in his knee.

A scan on Monday showed the Italy centre-back, an ever present for the Hammers in the league this season, had damaged his anterior cruciate ligament.

He will see a specialist later this week to determine whether he needs an operation and a timescale of recovery.

West Ham rose to third in the table after Sunday's 3-2 victory against Liverpool at London Stadium.

David Moyes' side are also through to the EFL Cup quarter-finals and have qualified for the Europa League knockout stages with two group games to spare.
