Lebron James Banned For First Time In Career After Clash With Isiah Stewart

LeBron James has been handed a one-game suspension after an altercation with Isaiah Stewart during Sunday's clash between the LA Lakers and Detroit Pistons, with Stewart handed a two-game ban.

James was ejected, for only the second time in his illustrious career, after a particularly nasty incident in the third period which left Stewart bleeding from a wound above his right eye.

He clearly caught Stewart with an elbow as they battled for position at a free-throw, but Stewart then escalated things and went after the perennial All-Star, drawing multiple technical fouls and also being ejected from the game.

The decision means James will miss Tuesday night's game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden for "recklessly hitting Stewart in the face and initiating an on-court altercation", in a decision announced by President of League Operations Byron Spruell.

Stewart's two-game suspension means he will miss a home date with the Miami Heat on Tuesday and Thursday's road game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The 2020 draft pick was found guilty of "escalating an on-court altercation by repeatedly and aggressively pursuing Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James in an unsportsmanlike manner".

Pistons head coach Dwayne Casey had said after the game that he didn't believe Stewart deserved to be punished any further than his ejection after being provoked.

Romelu Lukaku Likely To Make Bench For Chelsea In UCL Tie Against Juventus

Chelsea and Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku could mark a return to the bench for Tuesday's Champions League Group H match against Juventus at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old forward has not featured for the London side since injuring his ankle on 2 November in the Champions League win over Malmo.

Manager Thomas Tuchel said Lukaku "seemed OK" after training on Sunday but was still unsure if the striker will play any part in the game.

Tuchel said he will be assessed on Monday with an appearance off the bench against Juve the "absolute maximum".

Chelsea are currently second in Group H, three points behind their Italian opponents, who top the group.

The Blues need a point from their remaining two games to guarantee progression to the last 16.

Germany forward Kai Havertz is also a doubt with the hamstring problem which saw him get substituted in Saturday's 3-0 win against Leicester.

Fellow Germany striker Timo Werner, who has been out with a hamstring injury since October, could feature while midfielder Jorginho is fit despite also being replaced in the second half against the Foxes.

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini and forward Federico Bernardeschi are all out for Juventus while top scorer Paulo Dybala is a doubt.

Juventus are eighth in Serie A with six wins from 13 matches this season
