Manchester City Close In On Title Race With League Win Over West Ham

Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandino were on target for Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's side's Premier League dominance over West Ham continued.

Under Guardiola, City have won 10 of their last 11 Premier League encounters with the Hammers.

After 33 minutes, Gundogan delivered the decisive moment when he turned in a deflected Riyad Mahrez effort at the far-post in a game played in a snowstorm before half-time.

The goal was the German midfielder's third goal of the season, and his second in as many league games, and it was followed up in the final minute by Fernandinho, who had only been added three minutes before to tie the game up.

The veteran Brazilian striker had not scored in the Premier League since October 2018, yet he struck from the edge of the box.

Manuel Lanzini equalized late-on with the game's final kick, costing Ederson his 100th clean sheet in all competitions but it was eventually inadequate to prevent City from reclaiming second place, six points ahead of the Hammers.

Despite suffering consecutive Premier League defeats for the first time since April, the Londoners are still fourth on the table.

Manchester City's next Premier League game is at Aston Villa on Wednesday, 1 December (20:15 GMT) while West Ham entertain Brighton at London Stadium on the same day (19:30 GMT).

PSG Score Late Goals To Claim Victory Over 10-Man St. Etienne

Paris St-Germain came from a goal down to overcome ten-man Saint-Etienne and extend their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to 14 points.

Denis Bouanga handed St Etienne a 23rd-minute lead after Neymar's early effort was ruled out for offside.

Bouanga's opener, which was confirmed by VAR after he was initially flagged offside, was the 11th time Mauricio Pochettino's PSG have conceded the first goal the league in 2021, their most in a single calendar year since 2012.

Marquinhos headed PSG equalizer from the resultant free-kick before half-time after Timothee Kolodziejczak was given his marching orders for a tackle on Kylian Mbappe.

With 11 minutes left on the clock, Angel di Maria curled in a goal, and Marquinhos added a third for the visitors in stoppage time.

Despite Sergio Ramos, a former Real Madrid defender, making his first appearance for the club since joining in July, the result was flattering.

Lionel Messi, who assisted all three goals for his team, missed a golden opportunity to put the visitors ahead midway through the second half when he went wide after Neymar's attempt was stopped.

But he made good, setting up Di Maria with a brilliant outside-of-the-foot pass before crossing for Marquinhos as PSG extended their lead after second-placed Nice lost 1-0 to Metz on Saturday.

Vinicius Nets Late Winner To Take Madrid Top Of League Table

Vinicius Junior scored a spectacular late winner to give Real Madrid the win after coming from behind to beat Sevilla at the Bernabeu, moving four points clear at the top of La Liga.

Rafa Mir put the visitors ahead early, but Karim Benzema equalized with an easy tap-in to restore parity.

Carlo Ancelotti's side were called into action early when Mir planted a header past Thibaut Courtois in the 12th minute.

The hosts hit back through Karim Benzema, who was left with an easy finish after Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou could only push Eder Militao's long-range effort onto the post.

Real's comeback was completed when Vinicius cut inside and hit the top corner with a superb right-footed strike late-on in the game.

After Vinicius' goal, Courtois made a vital stoppage-time save to keep out Thomas Delaney's header.

The win was Real's sixth consecutive victory in all competitions.

Real are now four points clear of rivals Atletico Madrid, who thumped Cadiz 4-1 earlier on Sunday with Thomas Lemar, Antoine Griezmann, Angel Correa and Matheus Cunha on target for Diego Simeone's side, and also Real Sociedad.
