Barcelona Out Of Champions League After Defeat To Bayern Munich

Five-time European champions Barcelona lost to Bayern Munich to miss out on the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in 17 years.

Barca have not been absent from the last 16 since 2003-04, when they did not qualify for the competition at all.

This exit continues a miserable campaign for the Spanish giants after financial issues forced them to let club legend Lionel Messi leave on a free transfer and then join Paris St-Germain in the summer.

Barca needed to match Benfica's result to advance, but the Portuguese side won 2-0 at home to Dynamo Kyiv, leaving Xavi's men third and facing a Europa League knockout round play-off.

Bayern scored their first when Robert Lewandowski's cross found Thomas Muller and his header just crossed the line, before they doubled their lead thanks to a superb 30-yard strike from former Manchester City forward Leroy Sane.

Jamal Musiala added a third goal in the second half with a routine finish after a pull-back from Alphonso Davies.

Bayern advance as group winners with a 100% record. Benfica finished on eight points, with Barcelona, who only scored twice in the entire group stage, on seven points.

December 9, 2021 Spurs Game Against Rennes Called Off After Covid Outbreak

Spurs Game Against Rennes Called Off After Covid Outbreak

Tottenham's Europa Conference League match against Rennes on Thursday is off after eight players and five members of staff tested positive for Covid-19 at the London club.

Their match against Brighton on Sunday in the Premier League is believed to be under review.

Spurs said they closed their first-team training centre on Wednesday.

"Discussions are ongoing with Uefa. We shall provide a further update on this fixture in due course," the club said.

Speaking earlier on Wednesday, Spurs manager Antonio Conte said: "Now, for sure, we are a bit scared because tomorrow we don't know what happens.

"Every day, we are having more positives. This is not a good situation."

In a statement on Wednesday night, Rennes criticised the move, saying they "reserve the right" to appeal against the decision to Uefa.

"This lack of fair play is all the more glaring as Tottenham had confirmed by email that the match would be held at the start of the afternoon before warning Rennes of their intention not to play just after landing in London," the statement added.

Following Spurs' league game against Brighton, they face Leicester City on 16 December and Liverpool on 19 December, before an EFL Cup quarter-final against West Ham on 22 December.

December 8, 2021 Nick Cannon Breaks Down In Tears As He Announces The Death Of Five-Month-Old Son

Nick Cannon Breaks Down In Tears As He Announces The Death Of Five-Month-Old Son

Nick Cannon announced on Tuesday that his youngest son, Zen, has died from a brain tumor.

He made the announcement on The Nick Cannon Show Tuesday morning, telling the audience his 5-month-old son passed away after previously suffering from hydrocephalus, in which fluid builds up in the cavities of the brain and increases the size of the ventricles, putting pressure on the brain.

Cannon, 41, said the tumor developed quickly around Thanksgiving, and as he broke down in tears on his show, he told how he spent this past weekend in California to share a few last moments with Zen.

The actor said he took his son on a trip to the beach on Sunday and held Zen for the last time. He died soon after.

Zen was Nick's seventh child, delivered in June by former flame Alyssa Scott, 28.

He was the fourth of Nick's children born within the past year and a half, with twins Zillion and Zion born in June, and his daughter, Powerful, born last December.

The seven children are with four different women, including his ex-wife Mariah Carey, ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell, his current partner Abby de la Rosa, and Scott, a model who appeared in one of Cannon's music videos.
