Paul Onuachu Ruled Out Of AFCON 2021

Genk forward Paul Onuachu has been ruled out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, dealing another blow to Nigeria's aspirations of having a significant impression at the tournament.

Onuachu suffered a hamstring injury in Genk's 1-1 draw with Royal Antwerp at home on Sunday.

Prior to his injury, the former FC Midtylland striker had opened the scoring for Genk in the first half.

As a result of the setback, the forward is anticipated to miss about a month of action.

Watford midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has already been ruled out of the AFCON finals in Cameroon, and Victor Osimhen's participation is still up for debate.

Austine Eguavoen, the interim head coach, is scheduled to unveil his preliminary roster for the competition this week.

Chinese Tennis Star Denies Making Sexual Assault Claims

In her first public interview after alleging a top Chinese official pressured her into having sex, Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai denied making a sexual assault allegation.

Ms Peng drew international concern when she vanished from view after making the allegations public.

She has since stated that there were "many misunderstandings" concerning the post.

The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) expressed worry that she is still being censored by the government, even after the interview.

Ms Peng clarified in a video interview with Lianhe Zaobao, a Singaporean Chinese-language newspaper: "I've never said or written that anyone sexually assaulted me. This point musst be emphasised very clearly.

However, she accused former Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli of forcing her to have sex with him in her original note, which she uploaded on the Chinese social media platform Weibo in November.

"Why would anyone monitor [me?] [I have] always been very free," Ms Peng further told Lianhe Zaobao, adding that she was not under surveillance.

The interview took place on the sidelines of a sporting event in Shanghai, where she appeared among national athletes such as basketball player Yao Ming and sports executive Ding Li, who has recently posted photos of Ms Peng on Twitter.

Real Madrid Held To A Goalless Draw By Relegation Threatened Cadiz

Real Madrid were denied an eighth consecutive victory in the La Liga after being held to a goalless draw by relegation strugglers Cadiz at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Brazilian forward VINICIUS JUNIOR failed to impress on his 100th league appearance for Real and KARIM BENZEMA was another to disappoint in the uneventful outing for the Los Blancos.

The hosts dominated proceedings, registering 36 efforts on goal to the visitors' four but failed to widen the gap at the summit.

Despite several promising created chances, Carlo Ancelotti's squad ended up having a frustrating night, while Alvaro Negredo squandered a late chance to give the visitors a much-needed win that would have moved them out of the relegation zone.

The result leaves Real six points clear at the top of the table having played a game more than second-placed Sevilla.
