Manchester United Overcome Aston Villa In FA Cup Third Round

Manchester United booked an FA Cup fourth-round meeting with Middlesbrough as Scott McTominay’s eighth-minute header proved enough to beat Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

McTominay was allowed to run unchallenged to the edge of the Villa six-yard box, where he met Fred’s perfectly weighted cross to steer the ball past Emiliano Martinez.

The goal condemned Villa boss Steven Gerrard to an unhappy return to Manchester, where he was baited by the home supporters because of his allegiance to Liverpool.

However, the result was incredibly harsh on Gerrard and his team.

Twice in a matter of minutes early in the second period they had the ball in the United net, only for both to be ruled out.

The second was a straightforward offside goal against Danny Ings, albeit the flag was not raised until after Ollie Watkins had put the ball in the net.

However, the first was far more debatable and involved a lengthy wait for VAR to ask Michael Oliver to make final decision by consulting the screen, the referee eventually ruling Jacob Ramsey was offside and impeded Edinson Cavani in the build-up.

Appearing on TV3's Showbiz 360, the Nigerian actor was asked about his opinion on Shatta Wale's comments.

Roma Suffer Loss To Juventus In Extraordinary Conditions In 7-Goal Thriller

VC  After losing to Juventus, Jose Mourinho said his Roma team had a "psychological collapse" after allowing three goals in seven minutes.

Before Juve's incredible comeback, Roma had maintained a 3-1 lead with 20 minutes remaining.

"We did very well for 70 minutes, but after that it was a psychological collapse," Mourinho told DAZN.

"When you're in trouble you're supposed to get back up and show what your made of, but there are people in the changing room here who are a bit too nice, a bit too weak."

On 11 minutes, Tammy Abraham nodded home Jordan Veretout's near-post corner for his 14th goal in all competitions for Mourinho's side, who included loan signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the starting XI for the first time.

Shortly before halftime, Paulo Dybala equalized for Juve with a precise effort into the corner from the edge of the box.

At the start of the second half, Henrikh Mkhitaryan restored Roma's lead with a long-range effort that deflected off Daniele Rugani and looped over Szczesny, before Pellegrini curled a stunning 25-yard free-kick into the top corner, seemingly putting the home side on course for a comfortable victory.

On 70 minutes, though, Juve launched their comeback when Manuel Locatelli headed in Alvaro Morata's cross from six yards.

Dejan Kulusevski's close-range shot was initially ruled out for offside two minutes later, but the judgment was overturned following a lengthy video assistant referee check.

When defender Mattia De Sciglio drilled the winner into the bottom corner from within the area, the visiting players were in a state of ecstasy.

After Matthijs de Ligt was awarded a second yellow card for handball, Roma's Lorenzo Pellegrini had a late penalty saved by Wojciech Szczesny.

The victory keeps Juventus in fifth place, three points behind Atalanta, who thrashed Udinese 6-2 to claim the final Champions League slot. Roma maintains their eighth-place position.
