Oladips Was Dead For Three Days Before Coming Back To Life – Singer’s Aide

Abdulrasheed Opeyemi, the personal assistant to Nigerian rapper Oladipupo Oladimeji, popularly known as Oladips, has clarified his management's recent announcement of the rapper's death.

According to Abdulrasheed, Oladips was erroneously declared dead by his manager, and in reality, he had been in a critical condition for three days before making a recovery.

The news of Oladips' supposed demise circulated on November 14, stating that the 'Chache' crooner had succumbed to an illness he had been battling for two years. The management released a statement mourning his passing and requesting privacy for the family during this challenging period.

In an exclusive interview with Tope Alabi on Monday, Abdulrasheed, who works with Dipsciples Music, Oladips' label, shed light on the situation. He explained there was a miscommunication with the manager, who had access to Oladips' social media accounts. The misunderstanding led everyone to believe that Oladips had passed away, as he was not breathing for three days until he was revived.

Abdulrasheed expressed his inability to reach Oladips during this critical time. When questioned about the rapper's whereabouts during the three days, he clarified that Oladips was with his family.

Furthermore, Abdulrasheed disclosed that the manager responsible for the premature announcement has been dismissed from the music outfit. While not revealing the manager's identity, he assured Oladips he would address the issue personally.

It's worth noting that Oladips established his label, Dipsciples Music, in 2019 after parting ways with LRR/Edge Records, owned by Nigerian rapper Remilekun Safaru, popularly known as Reminisce.

I Don’t Want Money, Just Feature Me – Portable To Wizkid & Davido

Since bursting onto the mainstream scene, Portable has been a driving force for the inner city, using his music and attention-grabbing lifestyle to make waves.

The artist is again in the spotlight, with a special request for Nigerian megastars Wizkid and Davido.

In a video shared on his Instagram account, Portable responded to Wizkid's recent philanthropic gesture of giving rising Hype Man GOE 20 million naira. He reminded Nigerians that he was the one who initially urged Wizkid to extend his generosity to the streets. This claim is substantiated by Portable's appearance on the Honest Mind Podcast, where he called on Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy to show support for the grassroots.

Acknowledging Wizkid's response to his request by generously gifting Hypeman GOE, Portable has its appeal. In the video, he clarified that he isn't seeking monetary assistance from Wizkid; instead, he desires a verse from the megastar, believing it would translate into greater financial success for him. Similar expectations are directed at Davido, whom Portable asks for a life-changing verse.

Portable has been actively seeking his next major collaboration after having experienced mainstream success with the Olamide Baddo-assisted 'Zazzu Zeh' hit single. He has expressed his ambitions and requested collaborations with Afrobeat’s superstars, Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, and Asake. Despite not receiving a verse from any of these stars yet, Portable remains unwavering in his pursuit of a collaboration that could propel him further into the realm of superstardom.

Why I’m Still Single At 34 – Moet Abebe

Prominent media personality Laura Abebe, widely recognized as Moet Abebe, recently revealed the rationale behind her single status.

The 34-year-old presenter shared this insight during a podcast she co-hosted with reality TV star Tolani Baj, featuring Nollywood actor Etim Effiong as a guest.

Moet Abebe has been making headlines, notably in June 2023, when she candidly discussed enduring an "abusive" relationship with her ex-fiancé over approximately two and a half years. In October 2023, the video jockey asserted that she could not entertain romantic involvement with men residing on the mainland in Lagos. Justifying her stance, she explained, "I feel like if I call you at 11 p.m., you will probably give me some story like it is too late, there are police on the street, and I cannot come."

Expressing her indifference towards marriage earlier in 2021, Moet described it as a "fraud." When questioned about her single status and presence on the dating scene, she attributed it to her perception that "most men do not have sense." This candid response replied to Effiong, who has known her since his single days six years ago.

Moet elaborated on her reservations, expressing frustration at the lack of sense exhibited by some men. She urged men to be more discerning in their choices, stating, "How about men stop dipping their fingers in so many pots? Because you are making me confused. That means I equally have options. I am choosing to be single, but the options are not so great, even if I wanted to be in a relationship."

I Cried Every Day Before My Parents Let Me Do Music – Tyla

South African songstress Tyla, also known as Tyla Laura Seethal, recently opened up about the challenges she faced convincing her parents to support her musical aspirations.

Despite their initial reluctance to consider music a viable profession, the 'Water' singer eventually gained their approval after persistent efforts, including days of tearful appeals.

During a recent interview in Los Angeles, U.S.A., Tyla shared, My parents weren't overly strict about my choices, but they were adamant about me going to the studio instead of pursuing a traditional job. They believed that music was more of a hobby than a legitimate career.

So, I had to cry every day and express my sincere desire to pursue this path. I made it clear that there was nothing else I wanted to do. Convincing them was challenging, especially because success stories in music are not as common in South Africa.

Many aspiring female musicians faced obstacles. My parents, understandably, were trying to protect me. However, I demonstrated to them my unwavering commitment to a career in music.
