Nigerian singer Okafor Uchenna Victor, popularly known as Mr Real, has publicly addressed his colleagues D’banj and Mr Eazi, accusing them of failing to settle his alleged debts.
During a recent podcast, Mr Real claimed that neither D’banj nor Mr Eazi have compensated him for his contributions to their respective songs, 'Issa Banger' and 'Overload.' He expressed frustration, stating that his attempts to reach out to them were unresponsive.
In his statement, Mr Real revealed, “I have a song with D’banj. I was the one that brought my producer, Cracker, and Slimcase on board, and we made that song [‘Issa Banger’]. The song blew, and we shot the video with love and all. I’m not saying I’m being ungrateful for what you’ve done. But give me what is rightly mine. It’s my right."
He went on to lament that despite the song being used in movies, including American productions, he has not received any royalties.
Regarding the song 'Overload' with Mr Eazi, Mr Real claimed there was no contract or split sheet, and he hasn't received any compensation. He expressed disappointment, stating, "And the truth is that these people [my colleagues] know what they are doing."
Mr Real further revealed that Mr Eazi had called him for another feature with Legendary Beatz, and he promptly delivered his vocals. However, he expressed frustration that the favour was not reciprocated, saying, "There is this saying that when you do a favour, you don’t expect them to do something in return. Omo, me I dey expect o. When I do you a favour, I expect you to render the same to me."
In conclusion, Mr Real appealed to his colleagues, emphasising the need for fair compensation and expressing disappointment that calls to them go unanswered.
