Chelsea Interested In Signing Wesley Fofana From Leicester City

The French center-back, Wesley Fofana signed a two-year contract extension with Leicester in March which will keep him at the club until 2027.

Chelsea are interested in signing Wesley Fofana from Leicester City.

Chelsea have signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli and attempted to sign Nathan Ake from Manchester City and Jules Kounde from Sevilla to bolster their defense following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

When asked at the Universal Orlando Resort, if he has been annoyed by the Spanish giants' pursuit of Azpilicueta, Tuchel replied: "Maybe a little bit."

Asked about the Spaniard's future, Tuchel said: "It's a tough question because I am not sure if I want to give Azpi what he wants.

"At some point it is about what we want. I just made the comparison about how much we fought for Koulibaly, who is a national team player and roughly the same age.

"He is a hugely important player for Napoli but we have a Spanish international who is the captain at Chelsea. I see him maybe at the same level but Barcelona don't see him on that level. So I am not sure if I want to give him what he wants as he is a huge player.

"We don't think so much about other clubs. The focus is on us and what we need. I said that to him and I say it to you that I understand on a personal and a career level. But I am not only in this role to give him what he wants. I am a manager for Chelsea who wants to do what's best for Chelsea.

"He doesn't like it but he understands. It is tough for him because the other club is permanently on him. On September 1 when things calm down, then he can play on his highest level."

Luis Suarez Reaches Agreement To Rejoin Nacional

Former Liverpool and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez says he has "a preliminary agreement" to return to his hometown club Nacional.

The 35-year-old is a free agent after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired this summer.

Suarez is expected to return to Nacional until at least the start of the 2022 World Cup in November.

After being linked with Suarez, approximately 20,000 Nacional fans wore Suarez masks at a recent game.

He made his professional debut for Nacional at the age of 18, in 2005, and helped them win the Uruguayan league title to earn a transfer to Europe with Groningen the following season.

He earned notoriety at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa when his last gasp illegal goalline clearance in the quarter-finals against Ghana prevented the Black Stars from becoming the first ever African nation to reach the last four of the tournament.

Suarez was sent off for deliberate handball but Uruguay survived the subsequent spot-kick and then progressed on penalties.

Four years later in Brazil he disgraced himself by biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini, for which he received a record nine-match ban from world football governing body FIFA -- it was the third time he had bitten an opposing player.

He is due to sign a three-month deal with Nacional to play in the Uruguayan Clausura competition while preparing for the World Cup in Qatar from February 21 to December 18.

"Details will be finalized in the next hours and we hope to reach the agreement we all desire and that we can all make the most of this new stage and see each other in the coming days," added Suarez.

England Cruise Past Sweden To Reach Euro 2022 Final

England advanced to their first major women's tournament final since 2009 in spectacular fashion, defeating Olympic champions Sweden in Sheffield.

The Lionesses, who extended their unbeaten streak to 19 games under manager Sarina Wiegman, will face either Germany or France in the final on July 31 at Wembley Stadium.

From start to finish, it was a thrilling match at Bramall Lane, with Sweden piling on the pressure in the first 25 minutes, only for England to dismantle them with ruthless finishing and a touch of class.

England's Golden Boot leader Beth Mead put England ahead in the first half, spinning and firing into the far corner, before defender Lucy Bronze headed in a second.

Substitute Alessia Russo produced another moment of magic when her instinctive back heel put England up 3-0 only 11 minutes after her introduction.

Chelsea's Fran Kirby completed the rout by chipping despairing goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl.

England is now one victory away from winning its first major football trophy in 56 years after defeating Sweden.

Ajibade, Ohale Named In WAFCON 2022 Best XI

The Confederation of African Football has released the best 11 players from the 12th Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, including Super Falcons duo Rasheedat Ajibade and Osinachi Ohale.

According to CAF, Atletico Madrid forward Ajibade and Deportivo Alaves defender Ohale were two of Nigeria's most prominent stars in Morocco.

Despite missing the third-place match against Zambia due to a straight red card in the semi-final against hosts Morocco, Ajibade finished the tournament with three goals and three assists.

While Ajibade was outstanding in attack, veteran defender and four-time WAFCON winner, Ohale, delivered a strong defensive performance for the Falcons, assisting the team in keeping three clean sheets at the tournament.

The 30-year-old even received a Woman-of-the-Match award for her performance in Nigeria's 1-0 quarter-final win over Cameroon.

After the group stage, both players were named to the tournament's best 11.

Ohale and Ajibade join nine other semi-finalists' stars to form CAF's best XI for the 2022 Championship.

The Banyana Banyana team who won their first-ever WAFCON trophy after defeating hosts Morocco in the final, has four representatives.

Runners-up Morocco has three representatives, while Zambia has two players among Africa's best XI.
