American actor Chris Evans has been declared the sexiest man alive for 2022 by People's Magazine.

The revelation was made during Monday's episode of Stephen Colbert's late-night program.

Evans, who will be featured on the cover of the magazine's special edition, was also featured in some dashing photos on its website.

The Captain America actor joins a long list of former champions, including Idris Elba, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Michael Jordan, Chris Hemsworth, and others.

Evans will succeed Paul Rudd, a fellow Marvel superhero who was given the same title by People in November 2021.

In an interview for the cover story, Evans, 41, said that although most of his friends would tease him for the new title, his mother would be overjoyed.

He responded, "My mother will be very thrilled." She is proud of everything I do, but she can truly take pride in this.

"Really, this will simply be a point of bullying," he said. Harassment is likely to occur.

The Grey Man actor also said that as he got older, he started to pay more attention to his health and welfare.

He said, "Back in the day, I could eat anything I wanted, work out a couple of times a week, and be OK. That is no longer the case. I wear it if I have two drinks.

"Diet and exercise routine haven't been on my radar since I haven't had to portray a part like Captain America in a while. However, as you age, your joints get painful and click, it's difficult to wake up, and your energy levels decline.

However, he made a joke about how he would want to remember the title when he is "old and sagging."

Senegal forward Sadio Mane has reportedly been ruled out of the World Cup after limping out of Bayern Munich's clash against Werder Bremen with a tendon injury.

The former Liverpool forward was taken off just 20 minutes into Bayern's 6-1 win over Bremen on Tuesday night - leading to huge fears about his fitness for Qatar just 11 days before the tournament officially kicks off.

And according to L'Equipe, he will play no part in the competition for Senegal, dealing his nation a massive blow as they prepare to be without their talisman for their group stage against the Netherlands, Ecuador and hosts Qatar.

Mane will have a scan on a knee injury suffered in Bayern Munich's victory over Werder Bremen that moved them four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

The 30-year-old went down on 15 minutes and had to be replaced by Leroy Sane.

It comes just 11 days before Mane's Senegal play their first game at the 2022 World Cup against the Netherlands.

"He'll have to have an X-ray to see what's happened," said Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann.

"He took a blow to his tibial plateau [the head of the shin]. It's a painful spot."

Bayern, meanwhile, cruised to victory with Serge Gnabry scoring a hat-trick.

Anambra state where four people have reportedly died while 12 others were seriously injured following an explosion at the Chemical Market in Onitsha Head Bridge.

Goods worth millions of naira were also destroyed by the fire and several shops were razed.

It was gathered that the fire started at about 12:10pm yesterday as the chemical stored in the shops exploded sporadically.

22-time grand-slam champion Rafael Nadal has crashed out of the Paris Masters after a second-round loss defeat against American Tommy Paul in just the Spaniard's first match since becoming a father. 

Paul, who is currently ranked number 31 in the world, came from a set down to beat Nadal 3-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-1.

With the exception of a doubles match at Roger Federer's Laver Cup farewell, Nadal had not played since going out in the last 16 of the US Open two months ago following his battle with abdominal injury.

The defeat means the the 36 year old's hopes of ending the year as world number one suffer a huge blow.

The Paris Masters is the final regular ATP Tour event of the season, before the ATP Finals get under way in Turin on 13 November.
