Manchester City Triumphs Over Sevilla to Secure Super Cup Victory

Manchester City added the UEFA Super Cup to the Treble they claimed last season with a victory over Sevilla on penalties in Athens.

Pep Guardiola's Champions League winners lost the Community Shield to Arsenal in a shootout but saw their fortunes transformed when Sevilla's Nemanja Gudelj hit the bar after nine successful penalties.

City had to come from behind in an entertaining encounter to force penalties after a towering header from Youssef En-Nesyri put the Europa League holders ahead on 25 minutes.

Sevilla goalkeeper Bono and his Manchester City counterpart Ederson both excelled with fine saves before man-of-the-match Cole Palmer rose at the far post in the 63rd minute to level with a looping header from Rodri's cross.

City belatedly improved as the game headed towards the final whistle and almost won in stoppage time when Nathan Ake forced a sharp save from Bounou.

But City got the win they craved when Nemanja Gudelj missed the decisive penalty of the shootout, striking the bar and handing Pep Guardiola a record-equaling fourth Super Cup.

It set up the tense finale, resulting in another piece of silverware added to Guardiola's vast collection.

It’s Better To Cry With Your Birkin – Tiwa Savage

In a trending video, Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage delivers a message of empowerment to women, highlighting the importance of being selective about the men they date.

She humorously begins by clarifying that her advice does not endorse prostitution and emphasises the value of financial independence.

Tiwa emphasises, "I’m not advocating for transactional relationships, nor am I suggesting you pursue a man solely for his wealth. I'm saying there's satisfaction in contributing financially, as I do with my earnings."

She stresses the significance of finding partners who match one's energy levels, citing herself as an example. Tiwa further suggests that while men can still cause heartbreak, it's preferable to endure such pain while surrounded by material comfort.

To illustrate her point, she elaborates, "So, my point is, match my enthusiasm. Men can still cause emotional hurt, so it's more comforting to have your Christian Dior, Birkin bag, and a private jet in Dubai as companions – although Dubai isn't our go-to destination anymore."

This isn't Tiwa's first time offering relationship advice to her followers. In March 2023, she cautioned women about men who return after leaving, shedding light on the complexity of such situations."
