The heartening rescue occurred under the Operation Hadin Kai Theatre command headquarters in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Mary Nkeki, designated as number fifty-five on the list of abducted schoolgirls, was presented to the public during a ceremony at the command headquarters. Her long-awaited release came to fruition through the actions of her Boko Haram-associated husband, Adam, who chose to surrender to Nigerian Army troops.
