Mohbad: Primeboy Surrenders To Police

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin, also known as Primeboy, wanted in connection with the investigation into the death of singer Mohbad, has surrendered himself.

Command spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin shared the update, mentioning that Primeboy failed to respond to earlier police summons.

The Command further stated that a reward of N1 million will be given for any helpful information leading to Primeboy's arrest, as announced by Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa.

Hundeyin assured the public of a thorough and diligent investigation, pledging that those involved in Mohbad's death would face justice.

Exhaustion Cause Of My Collapse During Screening – Kaduna Minister Balarabe

A minister from Kaduna State, Balarabe Abbas, who slumped during the ministerial screening on Wednesday, says exhaustion was the cause of his collapse while appearing before the Senate.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu, Tuesday, wrote the senate seeking the confirmation of Balarabe alongside two other ministerial nominees, Jamila Ibrahim (Kwara) and Ayodele Olawande (Ondo).

Speaking with journalists after the incident, Balarabe stated that he was exhausted.

“I’m alright now. I’ve been treated, and I’m alright now. It was exhaustion.”

Balarabe, shortly after he concluded his introduction, collapsed, with the senate president, Godswill Akpabio, calling for a closed-door session.

The Senate later confirmed him alongside Dr. Jamila Ibrahaim and Ayodele Olawande.

Judgments Based On Constitution, Not Public Opinion – CJN

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, has said public opinions, no matter how serious or weighty, cannot supersede the country’s constitution’s provisions in determining legal disputes in court.

The CJN said judges must follow the law when deciding cases.

Justice Ariwoola stated this after swearing in 23 newly-appointed judges of the Federal High Court.

Among the new judges is the son of the CJN, Olukayode Ariwoola Junior.

The CJN, in his speech, stressed that the appointment of the judges was not to amass wealth, warning that any form of wrongdoing would not be condoned.

Over 200,000 Passports Ready For Collection – Interior Minister

The minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has said 204,322 international passports are now ready for collection out of the backlog of over 300,000 he met on assumption of office.

The minister also stated that no Nigerian would have to wait more than two weeks for an international passport.

On September 7th, the minister gave the NIS a two-week deadline to remove all passport application backlogs.

He also urged Nigerians to pick up their uncollected passports.

The minister stated that the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and its partners would enhance their systems to improve their services, adding that applicants would not be required to go to passport offices to be captured from December 2023.

Tunji-Ojo also revealed that the ministry was working with the immigration service and their vendors to ensure that international passports are delivered directly to the preferred address of Nigerians from next year.
