“I Sincerely Apologize” – VeryDarkMan Issues Apology for Wearing Police Uniform

Social critic Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has issued an apology to the Nigeria Police Force for wearing a police uniform in a recent video. The police had previously condemned his unauthorized use of the attire and launched an investigation into the matter.

In the video, VeryDarkMan appeared in a police uniform, identifying himself humorously as a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) of an "Online Division." Following public backlash, he posted an apology on Thursday, clarifying that his intention was not to impersonate the police.

He shared that he had been questioned by the police over the incident and urged Nigerians to seek official permission before using attire resembling police uniforms to avoid legal issues. “I didn’t intend to impersonate the police in any way and offer my unreserved apologies to the Nigeria Police Force and the office of the Inspector General of Police," he stated.

Additionally, VeryDarkMan advised the public to be cautious with uniforms that might resemble official attire. “You may have good intentions, but others might not, so it’s wise to get full approval to avoid any misunderstandings,” he added.

Any Charity Involving a Camera Has an Agenda – Comedienne Tomama

Popular comedienne Tomama has addressed the way some individuals use philanthropy to mask their wrongdoing. In a recent Instagram post, she pointed out that one of the quickest ways to gain favor with Nigerians is through gift-giving.

She suggested that many people engage in philanthropic activities while ensuring these moments are captured on camera for public display. According to Tomama, when such gestures are made, it becomes challenging for the public to criticize the individual, regardless of their past actions.

She emphasized that any act of philanthropy that involves a camera is likely driven by an underlying agenda.

Adidas Ends Dispute with Kanye West Over Antisemitism Controversy

German multinational Adidas has concluded all legal proceedings with American rapper Kanye West, also known as Yeezy. The company had initially ended its partnership with West in 2022 after public pressure from the American Jewish Committee (AJC) over his antisemitic remarks.

On Tuesday, Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden confirmed that the company reached an out-of-court settlement with West, ending all legal matters without any financial exchange. “The drama with West belongs to the past. Negotiations and settlements have been done,” Gulden said, though specific details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Following the termination of their partnership in 2022, Adidas was left with Yeezy stock valued at approximately €1.2 billion (£840 million). With the legal dispute now resolved, the company announced that it will sell off the remaining Yeezy stock by the end of 2024.
