Actor Gideon Okeke Reacts To DC Comics Bisexual Superman Character

The Nollywood actor has chided the studio for forcing opinions on sexual orientation on minors.

'Tinsel' star, Gideon Okeke has weighed in on DC's trending move to make its latest Superman character bisexual.

The actor, in an Instagram post on Tuesday, criticised the studio's actions labelling it 'flawed'.

He wrote: "In a world of Tolerance and acceptance, the homophobe who is not aggressive with his dislike of the fact (devoid of Hate), should also be tolerated...”

“If you make a comic book, shoving and making decisions of the sexual kind for minors, then there should be no age restrictions/limits to things. The age of consent becomes Flawed!”

The studio announced earlier this week that the latest Superman character for its forthcoming comic book would identify as transgender. The story would follow Jon Kent as he succeeds his father, Clark Kent.

DC Comics released viral photos of two characters kissing.

Burna Boy Says Hypocrisy Is The Reason Marijuana Has Not Been Legalised in Nigeria

Nigerian music star Burna Boy has opined that hypocrisy is why marijuana has not been legalised in Nigeria.

Burna Boys says everyone smokes weed in Nigeria.

Marijuana (also called weed, skunk or Igbo) is still illegal in Nigeria, although it hasn't stopped its widespread use.

A 2018 report by the United Nations Office on Drug and Crime (UNODC) revealed marijuana to be the most consumed 'drug' in Nigeria, being consumed by an estimated 10.8% of the population.

During a conversation about it in an interview with Home Grown Radio in Los Angeles, Burna Boy said he believes that hypocrisy is the reason it has not been legalised in Nigeria.

"It's not a zero tolerance. It's like everybody does it, but no one wants to be the one that is seen with it. It's just kind of hypocritical out there. Everybody smokes weed," Burna Boy said.

The Grammy award-winning singer also said that misconception around the drug is another reason why it has not been legalised.

"It's like some dumb shit, bro. You know those old shit when they talk about it frying your brains. They try to make it seem like if you smoke it, you will go mad," the singer said.

"Right now, everybody is relaxed, everybody does it, and everybody knows that. It's just a topic no one wants to talk about.

"No one wants to talk about it; everybody is cool. Nobody wants to make it a thing."

Asked if people get arrested for possession of marijuana in Nigeria, the 30-year-old singer says it depends on who you are.

"If you can please the person that is stopping you at a time," he added.

Burna Boy, in the interview, also said he likes coming to Los Angeles because weed is free in the state and that the best one he has had was in the city.

Read his post below

''Eating red meat is not enjoyment. It is a slow poison. It is perhaps the number one killer of men. God did not create red meat to be eaten-Genesis 1:29. It was only after The Flood destroyed all vegetable that God permitted Noah and his family to eat red meat, because there was hardly anything left on Earth to eat-Genesis 9:3. You will notice that the only thing Christ ate after his resurrection was fish-John 21:12-14. Avoid red meat and live! Not only will you live, you will also thrive!''

Actor, Chiwetalu Agu Regains Freedom After Four Days In DSS Custody

Ace Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu has regained his freedom after spending about four days in the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS).

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) broke the news in a statement via its Instagram page.

The movie star was first arrested last Thursday by soldiers for wearing an outfit themed after the flag of Biafra during which he was also reportedly assaulted.

The army had in a statement said the comic actor was apprehended after he publicly displayed his solidarity for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Amid the widespread criticism triggered by the army’s action, AGU was eventually released on Friday, after spending nearly 24 hours in detention.

But a few hours after his release by the army, he was arrested by the DSS for “further questioning” and has now been released.
