Lawyer Stan Alieke Cuts Ties with Speed Darlington, Withdraws from Burna Boy Case

Lawyer Stan Alieke, who had been representing controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington, has officially ended their professional relationship.

This decision follows the arrest of Speed Darlington on November 27 during a performance in Owerri, Imo State. He was detained over allegations of cyberstalking Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy. The arrest came after Burna Boy filed a petition against Darlington, accusing him of using social media to undermine the authenticity of his Grammy award and suggesting a connection to American music mogul Sean Combs (P Diddy). Darlington had insinuated that Burna Boy might have had a sexual relationship with Combs, which led to the legal dispute.

After spending considerable time in detention, Speed Darlington was released on January 21, 2025. Alieke, based in Abuja, had been one of the lawyers representing Darlington in the ongoing legal battle. However, in a surprising development, Alieke announced via an Instagram story on Sunday night that he was withdrawing his legal representation.

The post read: “I and my law firm (Law Capitol) have officially withdrawn from legally representing Mr. Darlingtn Achakpo AKA, Speed Darlington, and henceforth cease to act as his legal attorneys.”

VeryDarkMan Warns Toke Makinwa: ‘You’ll Be Held Responsible If Anything Happens to 2Baba’

"Popular social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has warned media personality Toke Makinwa, stating she will be held accountable if anything happens to singer 2Face.

The warning follows Makinwa’s reaction to 2Face’s recent divorce announcement from his wife, Annie. In now-deleted Instagram posts, 2Face shared the news of their separation on Sunday evening.

Reacting to the announcement, Makinwa shared a controversial post on Instagram, calling the singer’s actions unfair and pledging to support Annie, saying, ‘We will fight for her.’

However, in a viral video circulating on social media, VeryDarkMan expressed his concern and publicly cautioned Makinwa. He accused her of fueling hostility towards 2Face.

“It seems all the Nigerian women have had a meeting to throw hate on 2Face,” he said in the video. “First thing first, if anything happens to 2Face, we go pick all of una, especially Toke Makinwa. Make nothing touch 2Face ooo. Yes, because all I see here is double standards.”

The controversy continues to generate heated discussions online as fans and critics weigh in on the unfolding drama."
