Nigeria Records 165 Covid Infections

The Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) has confirmed 165 new cases of coronavirus in the country.

According to it s latest daily update, the NCDC, said the positive samples were recorded in nine states and the federal capital territory (FCT).

The states that have the new cases comprise Lagos (77), FCT (43), Rivers (22), Oyo (10), Osun (6), Bayelsa (2), Edo (2), Kaduna (1), Kano (1) and Ogun (1).

However, 26 persons were confirmed to have died of COVID complications 

NCDC said that the update includes a backlog of infections, recoveries, and deaths reported from Lagos and FCT.

NCDC has recorded 210,460 infections, 202,379 recoveries, and 2,882 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Nigeria has confirmed 167 fresh COVID infections.

The NCDC said the cases were reported in nine states.

According to data, Taraba recorded 109 cases — 65 percent — of the total confirmed cases on Wednesday.

Other states with new cases are Lagos (17), Plateau (16), Bauchi (11), Rivers (6), Delta (3), Akwa Ibom (2), Imo (2) and Bayelsa (1).

The NCDC said the 109 cases reported from Taraba state include data from 7th (22), 8th (2), 11th (5), 12th (5), 13th (14), 14th (27), 15th (14), and 20th (20) of October.

Also, 178 patients were discharged on Wednesday after they recovered from the infection.

Two persons were said to have died of COVID complications.

To date, Nigeria has confirmed a total of 209,713 cases, 197,724 recoveries and 2,840 deaths across the country.

Nigeria Confirms Fresh 125 Covid-19 Infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has said 125 COVID-19 infections have been  reported across the country 

The agency in its update for October 17, 2021 said the infections were recorded in nine states and in the federal capital territory (FCT).

The states that reported the new cases are the FCT (45), Kaduna (34), Rivers (11), Lagos (10), Osun (10), Oyo (9), Jigawa (2), Edo (2), Kano (2), and Plateau (1).

The NCDC said 59 patients were discharged after recovering from the infection.
The NCDC added that 33 persons died of COVID-19-related complications on Sunday, raising the total number of fatalities to 2,837.

According to the agency, 45 cases reported in the FCT are for the 16th (25 cases) and 17th (18 cases) of October.

The NCDC also said five recoveries reported in the FCT on October 16.

Out of the 209,298 COVID-19 cases so far recorded in Nigeria, 197,143 patients have recovered.

COVID-19: Nigeria Records 226 Positive Cases, Six Deaths

Nigeria has recorded six COVID-19-related deaths with 226 fresh cases confirmed across 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This was made known today by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) 

This, the NCDC said, brings the total number of infections to 20,8630.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the 226 fresh cases reported Thursday showed a decline from the 251 cases reported on Wednesday in the country.

The NCDC said the FCT reported 73 cases, while Plateau reported 34.

Others comprise Lagos (25), Gombe (22), Abia (16), Osun (13), Kano (7), Rivers (7), Ekiti (6), Kaduna (6), Oyo (6), Delta (5), Edo (3) Jigawa (2), and Nasarawa (1).

"Today's report includes: four states with zero cases reported: Bauchi, Ogun, ondo, and Sokoto," it stated.

The NCDC said that more than 3,142,971 samples of the virus from the nation's roughly 200 million population have been tested.
