Egypt Approves The Use Of The Sputnik V And Astrazeneca Coronavirus Vaccines

Egypt has approved the use of the Sputnik V and AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccines, a month after the North African country kicked off its inoculation campaign.

The drug body had “provided emergency authorization for the use of the two vaccines, Sputnik V, and AstraZenec imported from South Korea.

The country’s pharmaceutical agency had previously given emergency authorization for the Chinese Sino pharm vaccine and the AstraZeneca jab produced in India and marketed under the name Covishield.

Nigeria Has Recorded 11 New Deaths And 655 New Confirmed Cases Of Coronavirus

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to153,842 out of which 130, 818 cases have been treated and discharged.

The death toll from the deadly coronavirus also increased to 1,885in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 655 new cases were reported from 21 states- Lagos tops the list with 240 cases, followed by Ogun with (88), Rivers (56), FCT (51), Kaduna (43), Kano (25), Plateau (21), Taraba (19) Edo (17), Delta (13).

Others are Akwa-Ibom, Kwara, Oyo with 11 cases each, Kebbi (9), Borno (5), Bayelsa (4), Gombe (4), Ekiti and Osuneach with  (2) cases each.
