HEAD, TRANSMITTER & STUDIO ENGINEERING

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Checks equipment for operational readiness; provides operational assistance/instruction to others as needed.
  • Prepares and maintains various technical records and engineering logs pertaining to broadcast and transmission equipment performance and discrepancies according to regulations.
  • Set up, maintains and operates remote production facilities, to include all engineering activities associated with remote stations.
  • Test and align new equipment prior to installation in broadcast facility.
  • Direct as well as coordinates operations plus maintenance activities of radio broadcasting transmitter in accordance with rules and regulation of NBC.
  • Establish procedures plus standards for operation maintenance of transmitter equipment
  • Establish procedures for testing of transmitter equipment and performance of preventive maintenance activities.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

12 year(s)

Required Qualifications

  • A first degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a reputable institution
  • Minimum of 12 years hands-on experience in a radio or television broadcasting station.
  • Must have handled or worked on transmitter for a minimum of 10 years preferably in a radio broadcasting station
  • Knowledge of broadcast rules and regulations.
  •  Knowledge in maintenance, usage, and design of technical transmission, broadcast and IT equipment.
    Skill in responding to operational/technical equipment problems. Repairs and maintains equipment in emergency and preventative situations.

Required Skills

  • Solid background of Technical knowledge
  • Repair & Maintenance of heavy duty Generator
  • Excellent observatory and strong analytical skills
  • Proactive work style, resilience to deliver, very dependable and reliable.
  • Excellent communication skills

MARKETING MANAGERS

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development, implementation and management of overall marketing strategies to continuously increase the company’s market share and profitability.
  • Responsible for defining and proposing marketing strategies and tactics to ensure sales targets are met and surpassed.
  • Establishes contacts with senior levels decision makers in targeted organizations and individuals to attract patronage.
  • Takes a lead role in building and maintaining customer’s relationship.
  • Expected to develop a working process for the marketing department, monitor performance of marketing executives and close business opportunities.

Job Requirements:

  • A first degree in Marketing, Mass Communication or Social Sciences or related discipline from a reputable Institution.
  • MBA would be an added advantage.
  • Ideal candidate must be grounded on how radio station programmes can be marketed.
  • Must have performed a similar role in a Radio or TV Station.
  • Minimum of 15years post graduation experience, at least 10 of which should be in a senior management position of a radio broadcasting station.
  • Team player, strong financial and analytical skills; sound management skills coupled with good commercial acumen and good networking ability.
  • A pleasant personality, excellent communicating skills with good knowledge of radio broadcasting business environment.
  • Must be a registered member of APCON or NIM.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Prepare financial management reports.
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
  • Monitor and support taxation requirements
  • Evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
  • Preparing and presenting timely management account to the Board as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with generally acceptable accounting principles, practices and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Accounting degree or equivalent. Membership of relevant professional bodies such as ICAN, ACCA is mandatory.
  • Must possess knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles
  • Accounting experience in any Media Organization is an added advantage.
  • Must possess knowledge and experience of accounting computer applications
  • Knowledge of SAGE Accounting software is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, taxation and providing financial advice.

President Buhari Tasks Siemens To Improve Nigeria’s Electricity Capacity

President Muhammadu Buhari has challenged German-based Siemens AG, distribution and transmission companies and the electricity distribution company of Nigeria to work hard to achieve 7,000 megawatts by 2021.

 

He also tasked them to work towards 11,000 megawatts by 2023 and overall grid capacity to 25,000 megawatts.

 

He gave the charge when the Federal Government of Nigeria signed electricity road map agreement with German-based Siemens at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Nigeria-China partnership yields over $5bn in projects – Buhari

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has said the country’s partnership with China through the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation has resulted in the execution of vital projects across the country, valued at over $5 billion in the last three years.

The President said this yesterday in Beijing at the FOCAC Round Table meeting, attended by African leaders and Chinese President XI JINPING.

Highlighting specific projects under FOCAC, the President said through the Chinese support, Nigeria has impressively addressed significant challenges in the areas of infrastructure, human capacity development, power, transport, agriculture and humanitarian assistance.

The President also cited the construction and operation of the first rail system in Africa that uses modern Chinese standards and technology.

He further stated that “Nigeria is leveraging Chinese funding to execute $3.4 billion worth of projects at various stages of completion which include the upgrading of airport terminals, the Lagos – Kano rail line, the Zungeru hydroelectric power project and fibre cables for internet infrastructure
