Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burnaboy, has emerged as the winner of the prestigious Best International Act category at the 2023 Black Entertainment Awards, BET.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter, known for his hit album "African Giant," triumphed over strong contenders such as Ayra Starr, Central Cee, and Stormzy, among others, to secure the highly sought-after accolade.

Although Burnaboy was present at the event, it was his mother, Bose Ogulu, who graciously accepted the award on his behalf. The artist has been enjoying a remarkable streak of success in recent years.

His 2022 album, titled "Love, Damini," achieved global recognition, and this marks Burnaboy's third BET Award win in the Best International Act category, having previously claimed the honor in 2019 and 2021.

Among the other notable nominees in the same category were Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola, and Uncle Waffles.
