Nigerian singer Boypee has debunked claims that he, along with collaborators Brown Joel and Hyce, took down the video of their hit song "Ogechi Remix" featuring Davido due to alleged greed on the part of the DMW boss. The video, which was the wedding song for Afrobeats star Davido and his wife Chioma, was recently removed from YouTube, reportedly due to copyright issues.
After the video was taken down from Davido's record label DMW’s YouTube page, an X user with the handle @Johnnyescoba claimed that Boypee had stated in an interview that the video was removed because Davido wanted to take all the royalties from the views.
In response, Boypee denied the allegations, quoting the post and saying, "You and who talk that one? To what profit, eh guy? Wetin you wan use my downfall do?" This statement firmly dismisses the rumor, clarifying that there was no such dispute over royalties.
